Climate Change!  Global Warming!  It’s the end of the world as we know it…, and I feel fine.

There are a lot of misconceptions and misnomers being thrown around by “Climate Change Alarmists.”

Climate Change Alarmists are individuals who look at you as if you have three heads if you dare to question any of their Climate Change claims or appeals.

Climate Change Alarmists call people other people who don’t swallow their story hook, line and sinker, “Climate Change Deniers.”

Ok…, let’s be clear…, NOBODY believes the climate doesn’t change or isn’t changing.

Some people just believe the Earth’s climate changes naturally, and on its own, just like it is scientifically documented to have done throughout the world’s history, whether people were around or not.

“Climate Change Deniers” are also typically skeptical of policies directed at combating Climate Change because they don’t believe there is anything people can really do to effect the climate one way or the other.

My question to the Climate Change Alarmists would be, “Did you actually expect the Earth’s climate to NOT change from time to time?  Did you really expect the Earth’s climate to remain exactly the same forever?

That seems to be where these Climate Change Alarmists are coming from.

The Earth has had periods of “Global Warming,” “Global Cooling,” and even “Ice Ages” in the past when people either weren’t even around, or people did not burn fossil fuels.  How does the Climate Change community explain this?  How did the climate change back then without the help of the “evil” human polluters?

Let’s look at a recent article by Harry Pettit, of News.com, as a typical example of a Climate Change Alarmist spinning another fantasy climate change story and scenario that just doesn’t make any sense.

According to Mr. Pettit, “An Antarctic ‘time bomb’ is waiting to go off.”

He says that, “Earth’s sea levels should be nine meters higher than they are,” and that “dramatic melting in Antarctica may soon plug the gap.”

That’s over 29 feet higher for us unscientific and/or American Neanderthals.

So…, the oceans should be 29 feet higher than they are?

That’s like a three story building you know?

Really?

Do you understand how stupid that sounds?

“They say global temperatures today are the same as they were 115,000 years ago, a time when modern humans were only just beginning to leave Africa, he continues.”

Oh really?  How could that be?  What types of cars were people driving back then?  They must have had a lot of factories pumping out plenty of emissions in old Sub-Saharan Africa, huh?

Again, do you understand how stupid that sounds?

“Research shows during this time period, ‘scorching’ ocean temperatures caused a catastrophic global ice melt.  As a result, sea levels were six to nine meters higher than they are today.  But if modern ocean temperatures are the same as they were during that period, it means our planet is missing a devastating sea rise.”

I feel like I’m dumber for just having read that.  Please take a moment to reread the previous paragraph in order to properly appreciate all of the contradictions and false assumptions made here.

And again, do you understand how stupid that sounds?

“If oceans were to rise by just 1.8 meters (about 6 feet), large swathes of coastal cities would find themselves underwater, turning streets into canals and completely submerging some buildings,” and that, “There’s no way to get tens of meters of sea level rise without getting tens of meters of sea level rise from Antarctica,” said Dr. Rob DeConto, an Antarctic expert at the University of Massachusetts in the U.S.

“In the next century, ice loss would get even worse,” he added.

Even if you throw all common sense out the window and take all of these doomsday predictions at face value, do these people really think that having America return to the Middle Ages would make any difference?

If we all stopped driving cars, stopped transporting things with trucks, stopped flying in commercial jets and stopped using fossil fuels for electric power tomorrow, would that avert all of this supposed ice melting?

If you really think so, I’ve got this bridge I’m looking to sell…, cheap.

“The Sun” newspaper, in the United Kingdom, actually has a “sea level doomsday simulator” on its website if you’d like to know whether your home would be wiped out by rising oceans!

Well isn’t that special.

“It’s the end of the world as we know it…, and I feel fine.”

The lyrics are from the song by the same title by R.E.M.

The impending “collapse of civilization” was predicted at the recent UN climate summit, due to global warming.

Please forgive me if I’m just a little skeptical, but since when I was growing up, back in the 70’s, global cooling was all the rage, which was supposed to usher in a new “ice age!”

The truth is these scientists have no idea what they’re talking about.  We see it every day.  One day this certain food or drink will cause your early death, according to the “experts.”  Then a few months later we hear this food or drink is actually good for you.  Then it changes back again!  What has changed?  Can’t they make up their mind?

The same thing applies to these weather experts.  They pretend to know something about the weather, when they’re dealing with only 135 years of recorded temperature data, and many years less of any other kind of weather data.

According to History.com, “Scientists have recorded five significant ice ages throughout the Earth’s history: the Huronian (2.4-2.1 billion years ago), Cryogenian (850-635 million years ago), Andean-Saharan (460-430 mya), Karoo (360-260 mya) and Quaternary (2.6 mya-present). Approximately a dozen major glaciations have occurred over the past 1 million years, the largest of which peaked 650,000 years ago and lasted for 50,000 years. The most recent glaciation period, often known simply as the “Ice Age,” reached peak conditions some 18,000 years ago before giving way about 11,700 years ago.”

Interesting.  But you can’t find any information about scientists identifying any periods of intense global warming.

Hmmm.  I wonder why that is?

Also, how exactly did all of this previous “climate change” occur without any human behavior to blame?

We’ve only got 5,000-6,000 years of human history altogether on the planet, compared to the age of the Earth, which scientists claim is about 4.5 billion years (4,500,000,000 years).  Based on those numbers, human existence on this planet is like a blink of an eye over the course of a person’s life.  Who’s to say what is and what is not “normal” for our planet, or if there is anything that could be considered “normal” at all?

Just some information and questions to ponder on this subject.

Let’s get back to the impending “collapse of civilization.”

Sir David Attenborough spoke at a UN Climate Summit in Poland, warning that “climate change could lead to the collapse of civilization if action isn’t taken.”

Chances are, you’ve probably heard Sir David Attenborough narrate documentaries like “Planet Earth” and “Blue Planet” for the BBC.

Oh, I get it!  So it’s like he stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night!  He’s not really a climatologist, but he plays one on TV!!!

“Right now, we’re facing a man-made disaster of global scale,” Attenborough told delegates from almost 200 nations. “Our greatest threat in thousands of years: climate change.  If we don’t take action, the collapse of our civilizations and the extinction of much of the natural world is on the horizon.”

According to Brandon Specktor, Senior Writer for “LiveScience,” “Attenborough was chosen to speak at the summit as part of the U.N.’s new ‘people’s seat’ initiative, which encouraged citizens of the world to share their personal messages and videos explaining how climate change has already affected their lives. Several of these messages were shared as part of Attenborough’s speech today; they included footage of people standing in front of the ashen remains of their homes, which had been incinerated by wildfires.”

This was obviously caused by global warming!  We have never seen anyone’s home burn down because of a wildfire before global warming was being touted in the 1990’s.

“The world’s people have spoken,” Attenborough said.  “Their message is clear. Time is running out.  They want you, the decision-makers, to act now.  Leaders of the world, you must lead,” Attenborough concluded. “The continuation of our civilizations and the natural world upon which we depend is in your hands.”

Bravo!  Sir Attenborough, Bravo!

Your speech was sufficiently dramatic, as could be expected.

Now let’s deal with reality.

Exactly what do you want us to do that is going to make one bit of a damn difference Mister Sir David Attenborough?

Do you want us to shut down coal fired power plants all around the world that provide electricity for our daily use?

Do you want us to shut down all factories that produce any sort of pollution?

Do you want us all to park our cars in our garages and never use them again?

Do you want to ground all of the jets we use for travel because they pollute the air?

Do you want to halt all of the truck and rail transportation of our goods?

Do you want us all to stop using natural gas to heat our homes, heat our water and heat our food?

What is it exactly that you want us to do?  What “actions” to you want us to take?

Do you want us to go back to living like we did in The Middle Ages?

I think that’s what you’re saying you want.  Either that or you are very naïve about the whole subject, or you are just very disingenuous.

I’m willing to wager that very few of these “people who have spoken,” who you refer to, would be willing to give up many of their luxuries of modern life.

We’re all in favor of sacrifice to “save the planet,” as long as it’s someone else doing the sacrificing.

You’re saying this iceberg formed naturally?  What you talkin’ ‘bout Willis!?

A huge, flat, iceberg with perfect right angles was spotted on Oct. 16, 2018, by NASA’s “Operation IceBridge,” floating among sea ice, just off the Larsen “C” ice shelf, on the Antarctic Peninsula (the South Pole).

According to NASA, ‘“Operation IceBridge’s’ mission is to record images of our planet’s polar regions, in order to better understand how ice has changed and shifted in recent years.”

Fox News reports that, “This mysterious iceberg’s unique geometric shape has sparked considerable debate on social media.”

According to NASA, however, there’s a simpler scientific reason why the iceberg appears to be a perfect rectangle.

Uh, excuse me, but it doesn’t just “APPEAR TO BE a perfect rectangle,” IT IS A PERFECT RECTANGLE!!!

“We get two types of icebergs: We get the type that everyone can envision in their head that sank the Titanic, and they look like prisms or triangles at the surface and you know they have a crazy subsurface,” Kelly Brunt, an ice scientist with NASA, told Live Science. “And then you have what are called ‘tabular icebergs.'”

“Tabular icebergs are wide and flat, and long, like a sheet cake,” she said. “They split from the edges of ice shelves, large blocks of ice, connected to land but floating in the water surrounding iced-over places like Antarctica.”

“What makes this one a bit unusual is that it looks almost like a square,” Brunt said, adding that it’s probably not very old since wind and water have yet to soften its sharp edges.”

Uh, ya, “a bit unusual” to say the least.  “A bit unusual” is definitely an understatement.

“Although it’s hard to tell the size of the iceberg in this photo,” Brunt said, “it’s likely more than a mile across.”

Now I ain’t no “scientist,” but I am smart enough to realize that this “tabular iceberg” did not just happen naturally, all on its own.

You can say what you want, and come up with all of the scientific explanations you want, but I’m sorry, no one can convince me otherwise.

As with all icebergs, of course, the part visible above the surface is just the top 10 percent of its mass.  The rest is hidden underwater, and I wonder what that looks like!?

What do you think about this?  Please email me and let me know.
