Democrats proclaim, “Black Lives Matter!” Really?

Seriously?

Really?

Most recently, Illinois Governor J. B. Pritzker, and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, have been fighting to keep federal crime assistance, offered by President Trump, out of Chicago.

These “concerned” politicians prefer the status quo, which was 58 people shot and 8 killed over the Labor Day weekend, and dozens shot and killed over any other normal weekend, not to mention those shot and killed during the week!

Black communities bear the brunt of these shootings and killings.

But Pritzker and Johnson say crime statistics are improving, and they don’t want, or need help.

What do you think the families and friends of the hundreds of people who have been shot, and the families and friends of the hundreds of people in Chicago would have to say about that?

Pritzker and Johnson call on their democrat friends to “stand up and fight” against “federal occupation,” and to “defend the land” against President Trump.

Really?

Again, these “concerned” politicians prefer 58 people shot and 8 killed over the Labor Day weekend, and dozens shot and killed over any other normal weekend, not to mention those shot and killed during the week, and expect the people of Chicago to follow suit?

Since when did sacrificing the lives of these people to criminals on a daily basis become acceptable, and become the norm?

I believe the sane residents of Chicago would beg to differ.

So, do these democrat politicians still believe black lives matter?

I would ask, “matter” in what way exactly, because these black lives don’t seem to be worth saving in their eyes.

In case you don’t believe my premise of black lives being effected the most by this senseless crime in Chicago, in an article from April 12, 2022, for The Heritage Foundation, Giancarlo Canaparo and Abby Kassal ask, “Who Suffers the Most from the Crime Wave?”

“African Americans bear an increasingly large share of the harm from crime.”

“The spike in crime is hurting a lot of people, and black communities bear the heaviest burden.”

“Violent crime, like the price of gas, is rising. Not everyone is experiencing this crime wave in the same way. For some, it’s a distant issue experienced by other people somewhere else. For others, it’s a daily life-threatening concern.”

“We parsed the FBI’s crime data from 2011 to 2020 (the most recent data available) and found that African Americans bear an increasingly large share of the harm from crime. African American offenders, meanwhile, are committing an increasingly large share of violent crimes.”

“For other racial groups, the numbers are either decreasing (in the case of both white victims and offenders), increasing by much smaller amounts, or holding constant.”

“According to federal crime data, the number of violent crimes has increased by almost 50% over the last 10 years. In 2011, the FBI reported 314,907 violent offenses. In 2020, there were 640,836.”

“The most striking figure in the data is the spike in reported homicides, which tripled from 3,549 offenses in 2011 to 10,440 offenses in 2020.”

“The picture that federal crime data provide is bad, but the reality of crime in the United States is even worse. The FBI’s data is not complete. It relies on local law enforcement agencies across the country to voluntarily share their local data with the FBI. Not all do.”

Or, the data is manipulated, ala Washington D.C., to make it seem better than it really is.

“Although the National Incident-Based Reporting System is not complete, it provides useful insights into who suffers from and who commits crime because it tracks demographic data about both sets of people.”

“We utilized the FBI’s crime data to compare victim statistics to determine which groups have been most impacted by the rise in violent crime. Factoring out the cases in which the race of the victim was unknown, we calculated who has borne the brunt of the crime wave.”

“For this analysis, violent crime includes assault, homicide, and sex offenses. We found that the increase in these crimes has fallen hardest on black people.”

“The most significant changes, therefore, were that black people represent an increasing share of violent crime victims…”

“The true size of the problem is made starker when we consider that African Americans make up only 14.2% of the total population (including multiracial populations who identify as black “in combination” with another race), but 32.7% of all violent crime victims and 54.4% of homicide victims. Thus, these small percentages represent an enormous problem that, for black people, is getting worse, both in relative and absolute terms.”

Regardless…, the spike in crime is hurting a lot of people, and black communities bear the heaviest burden.

Democrats across the country oppose President Trump’s desire to make our cities safer places to live and work. The democrats prefer to fight for the rights criminals and ignore the devastating impact crime is having on their constituents.

How these democrats keep winning elections in our big cities is beyond me.

I guess, in the end, you get what you deserve, but President Trump is determined to improve the lives of the people in these big democrat run cities, whether they appreciate it or not.

Chicago’s a “sanctuary” city?

Chicago, Illinois and its liberal democrat leadership claim it be a “sanctuary” city.

I think you’d be safer walking around downtown Baghdad, taking a hike through North Korea or spending a weekend in Benghazi.

According to Merriam-Webster, “sanctuary” means “a place of refuge or safety.”

Elizabeth Llorente of Fox News reported that “Chicago has most violent weekend this year: 52 shot, 10 dead.

Wow…, 52 shot and 10 dead in one weekend!  Those numbers prompted me to look more closely at some other numbers.

My first reaction when I saw these numbers was that these numbers remind me of numbers you might see in a real “war zone.”

So I decided to look at the casualty numbers from the war in Afghanistan and see how the “sanctuary” city of Chicago compared.

From 2012-2018, 6 years, the total number of deaths suffered by our military personnel in Afghanistan was 857.

From 2012-2018, 6 years, the total number of gun deaths recorded in Chicago, Illinois was 1,216.

You can tack on another 20,000 or so casualties during that time frame as well.

This is a “sanctuary” city?

A “sanctuary” for who?

Chicago is the third largest city in the United States.

It is also, by definition, a “war zone.”

Actually…, based on the numbers, Chicago is worse than the war zone in Afghanistan.

According to Kristine Frazao of WJLA-TV in Washington D.C., “Some states with strictest gun laws also have the most dangerous cities.”

“One of the top ten states with the most restrictive gun laws in the country is Illinois, where last year there were 650 murders in Chicago alone, according to a USA Today’s compilation of crime data.”

chicago 4

“In Maryland, another state with some of the strictest gun laws in the country, Baltimore had 343 murders last year and has highest per capita murder rate in the nation. The city was also just named the most dangerous city in America by USA Today.”

Liberals still haven’t figured out that criminals typically don’t follow “the law!”  Or maybe they have, but they just don’t care.

“Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has said she’s considering replacing Johnson [Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson], but will not decide until after a more thorough study of the city’s problems, according to WGN-TV.”

“A study of the city’s problems?”

“A study of the city’s problems?”

Just off the top of my head…, I would say there are too many criminals on the streets with too many weapons.  Now that’s just off the top of my head mind you.

“On Twitter, [Department spokesman Anthony] Guglielmi assailed a program known as ‘I-Bond’ that allows Cook County offenders to be released on a no-cash bond. The program was implemented in 1982 to address jail overcrowding.  But critics long have said it provides criminals a fast way to get back on the streets.”

‘“Letting gun offenders out on I-Bonds shows there is absolutely no repercussion for carrying illegal guns in Chicago,’ Guglielmi tweeted.”

Again…, just off the top of my head…, I would say these I-Bond things are a real issue as well…, but that’s just off the top of my head…, again, mind you.

In my mind, you would address jail overcrowding by building a bigger jail or another jail…, not letting criminals back out on the street who are a threat to the community…, but that’s just me.

A memorial of flowers, balloons, a cross and photo of victim Marlen Ochoa-Lopez, are displayed on the lawn, Friday, May 17, 2019 in Chicago, outside the home where Ochoa-Lopez was murdered last month. What?!

Are you kidding me?!

Again…, just off the top of my head now…, I would say that part of the problem is that some of these gang members are not even human beings!

These people don’t need to be let out on bail when they’re caught…, they need to be locked up and the key thrown away…, regardless of how much it costs to keep them behind bars.

The alternative is more people are going to die.

These liberal “do gooders,” which is a fallacy all on its own, should be forced to live in the neighborhoods these “things” prey on.

They are obviously willing to take their chances with the lives of other law abiding citizens in Chicago…, why not their own?
