The NBA (the No Brains Association) just stepped in a huge pile of Chinese crap!

…and then they put their foot in their mouths!!!

Gross!!!

Oh, yes, they, did.

And it couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of clueless, disingenuous, hypocrites!

China holds the potential for the NBA to earn billion and billions of dollars in the near future and beyond.

The NBA is HUGE in China…, because the Chinese government allows it to be.

chinabna 6

Remember…, China does not operate quite the same way that America does.

The number of pro basketball (NBA) fans in China is twice the size of the entire U.S. population!

China is the goose that was getting ready to lay an endless supply of golden eggs for the NBA.

Then, last week, Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey felt compelled to tweet out, “Fight for freedom, stand with Hong Kong.”

Saaaaay what?!

OOOOPS!

Upon learning of the tweet, the Chinese government, who is currently at odds with Hong Kong, immediately said it was going to cut ties with the NBA and the Houston Rockets in particular.

How many lives to you guess Twitter has ruined?

Well, you can add at least one more to that list.

But wait…, what happened?

What happened to NBAers snidely shooting their liberal mouths off, while being praised by their contemporaries and the left in general?

Money.

Money is what happened…, and money rules…, end of story.

If these ultra-rich NBA prima donnas understand anything, it should be that money is the bottom line.

It’s just that some of our NBA friends are just not as smart as some of the others.
Case in point…, the aforementioned Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey.

The NBA has become pretty political and pretty outspoken the last few years.  We’ve heard from “stars” like LeBron (SheBron) James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Paul shooting their mouths off, as well as coaches Steve Kerr and Gregg Popovich.

They have all denounced President Trump.  SheBron James has actually stooped low enough to call our president a “bum.”

“From gun control to immigration, Kerr and Popovich are typically outspoken about social issues in the United States.  However, when asked about the controversy Monday, Kerr said it was a ‘bizarre international story’ and ‘vowed to read up on it before commenting,’” according to Ben Shapiro for Fox News.

“In 2017, Commissioner Adam [take me to your leader] Silver actually tried to blackmail the city of Charlotte, North Carolina, by pulling the All-Star Game, all in an attempt to restore the so-called ‘bathroom bill’ for transgender people.”

“Silver told CNN just last year that ‘part of being an NBA player’ is social activism and a ‘sense of an obligation, social responsibility and a desire to speak up directly about issues that are important.’ Silver stated the league wants players to ‘be multi-dimensional people and fully participate as citizens.’”

Well, apparently this “social responsibility” and “speaking up directly about issues that are important” only goes so far.

These ideals are great when attacking conservatives and President Trump, but big “no-nos” when they might cost the NBA any money.

So what did the NBA do?

Morey was forced to delete his tweet and genuflect before the Chinese communist government with an apology.

James Harden, a star on Morey’s team, then tweeted, “We apologize. We love China. We love playing there.”

Silver and the NBA put out an apology in Chinese saying (as translated), “We are extremely disappointed in the inappropriate comment by the general manager of the Houston Rockets.”

Hmmm.  “Social activism” sure looks different these days!

It looks more like “social butt kissing” to me!

It’s amazing how many human rights violations can be excused for a couple billion dollars.

Way to stand firm on your beliefs NBA!

“President Trump mocked two of his frequent critics, NBA head coaches Steve Kerr and Gregg Popovich, because of their responses to the ongoing standoff between the league [the NBA] and China.  Mr. Trump also accused them and the NBA of ‘pandering to China’ after the league scrambled to address the aftermath of a deleted tweet from Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey that supported the human rights protests in Hong Kong.”

chinanba 13

“After an executive bill signing Wednesday, Mr. Trump responded to a question about China applying pressure to the NBA and went directly after Kerr, the Golden State Warriors coach.  ‘I watch this guy Steve Kerr,’ Mr. Trump said. ‘And he was like a little boy, he was so scared to be even answering the question.  He couldn’t answer the question,’ he added. ‘He was shaking “Oh, I don’t know, I don’t know.” He didn’t know how to answer the question. And yet he’ll talk about the United States very badly.’ He also brought up Popovich’s response, but said ‘he didn’t look quite as scared.’”

“Mr. Trump also took aim at the league at large.  ‘I watch the way that Kerr, Popovich, and some of the others were pandering to China and yet to our own country, they don’t – it’s like they don’t respect it,’ Mr. Trump said.”

Well said Mr. President…, you’re right on point…, again…, as usual.

WINNING.
