I say “good” for them. I’m not a big fan of anyone paying taxes.
However, this does begin to pose a bit of a problem.
The problem is that almost half of us aren’t really concerned about federal taxes because we don’t pay any. We don’t worry about holding our government accountable because most of the 47% aren’t really worried about how our government spends our tax money because it’s not their money.
What do you suppose is going to happen when there are more people not paying taxes than those who are?
That is a very slippery slope that “We the People” cannot afford (and not literally afford) to start heading down.
Once the “receivers” outnumber the “payers,” there will be no end to how much the “receivers” are willing to take from the “payers,” and by that time there will be nothing the “payers” will be able to do about it.
It will be the beginning of the end of the greatest country in the history of the world, and it will be of our own doing.
That is why I believe every American should be required to pay some federal tax. I don’t care if it’s $5, $10, $50, or $100, but it has to be something.
Every American needs to be invested in our country.
Every American needs to have some skin in the game.
“It’s easy to be wasteful, take risks and bet stupidly when you’re playing with other people’s money.” – Mr. Erickson
Spot on and that slippery slope is socialism followed by communist rule ! Don’t believe me , look at the countries that are and look where they came from ? Does Spain or a few other failing countries come to mind ?
