Time and time again, President Trump’s accusations and claims have been proven right over the last two years. But yet again, the biased fake news media has met President Trump’s latest accusation with disdain and disbelief. They call his claims “crazy,” while they question his intelligence. They even laugh while discussing his accusations.
In this instance, two weeks ago, President Trump accused Google and other U.S. tech companies of rigging search results about him “so that almost all stories & news is BAD.” He offered no evidence of this bias, but a top adviser said the White House is “taking a look” at whether Google should face federal regulation.
According to Darlene Superville and Barbara Ortutay of The Associated Press, “Google pushed back sharply, saying Trump’s claim simply wasn’t so, “We never rank search results to manipulate political sentiment.”
“The president’s tweets echoed his familiar attacks on the news media, and a conservative talking point that California-based tech companies run by CEOs with liberal leanings don’t give equal weight to opposing political viewpoints. They also revealed anew his deep-seated frustration he doesn’t get the credit he believes he deserves.”
There is NO question that President Trump does not get the credit he deserves on any number of issues. These same accomplishments, if made by former President Obama, would have been met with fanfare and gushing praise by the biased fake news media. And you can take that to the bank!
The President followed up his original claim by saying, “I think Google has really taken advantage of a lot of people, and I think that’s a very serious thing. Google, Twitter, Facebook and others better be careful, because you can’t do that to people.”
In his tweets, President Trump said that, “Google search results for ‘Trump News’ shows only the viewing/reporting of Fake New Media. In other words, they have it RIGGED, for me & others, so that almost all stories & news is BAD. Fake CNN is prominent. Republican/Conservative & Fair Media is shut out. Illegal? 96% of results on “Trump News” are from National Left-Wing Media, very dangerous. Google & others are suppressing voices of Conservatives and hiding information and news that is good. They are controlling what we can & cannot see. This is a very serious situation-will be addressed!””
Google then responded in a statement again by saying, “Search is not used to set a political agenda and we don’t bias our results toward any political ideology. Every year, we issue hundreds of improvements to our algorithms to ensure they surface high-quality content in response to users’ queries. We continually work to improve Google Search and we never rank search results to manipulate political sentiment.”
‘“Experts’ suggested that Trump’s comments showed a misunderstanding of how search engines work.”
“Trump and some supporters have long accused Silicon Valley companies of being biased against them.”
“While some company executives may lean liberal, they have long asserted that their products are without political bias.”
Now we see this leaked video of Google executives and employees that confirm the liberal bias that President Trump has been concerned about!
According to an article by John Bowden of “The Hill,” “Google executives and employees can be seen making disparaging comments about President Trump’s 2016 election victory in a leaked video recorded shortly after Trump’s win.”
“The video of Google’s all-hands staff meeting following the election, which was provided anonymously to right-wing news site Breitbart News, shows executives including co-founder Sergey Brin comparing Trump voters to “extremists” and authoritarian movements.”
This is awesome. It’s obvious that the employee who took the video was well aware of the biased liberal environment at Google, and knew what was coming at the meeting and wanted to document it.
“In the hour of video footage, Brin is shown saying he is “deeply offend[ed]” by Trump’s election due to his status as an immigrant, and added that Trump’s politics conflict “with many of [Google’s] values.”
‘“Most people here are pretty upset and pretty sad,’ Brin says near the beginning of the meeting.”
Excuse me, but I’ve worked for more than a few companies, and at no time has any election or political outcome ever been discussed, or even mentioned at a company meeting. Why do they feel the need to address this if they truly are not biased as they have claimed?
“Google’s senior VP for global affairs Kent Walker went on to characterize Trump voters as governed by ‘fear,’ which he said was ‘fueling concerns, xenophobia, hatred, and a desire for answers that may or may not be there.’”
“Asked later on in the video whether any of the executives saw a positive benefit from Trump’s election, the group laughed before Brin responded, ‘Boy, that’s a really tough one right now.’”
“The video’s release comes following Google CEO Larry Page’s failure to attend hearings in the House and Senate related to Russia’s election interference and conservative claims of bias against right-leaning users and news sources on Facebook, Twitter and other tech platforms.”
Google has since released a statement (another one) saying, “At a regularly scheduled all hands meeting, some Google employees and executives expressed their own personal views in the aftermath of a long and divisive election season. Nothing was said at that meeting, or any other meeting, to suggest that any political bias ever influences the way we build or operate our products.”
Of course not! This blatant bias would have effect whatsoever! It would seem that Google is taking their lead from the DOJ and the FBI regarding that whole bias thing.
“House Majority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) slammed the company on Wednesday before the release of the video, accusing Google of “controlling the internet” during an interview with Fox News.”
“‘Ninety percent of all searches come through Google. If you don’t make that first page on Google, only 5 percent go to the next [page],’ he said. ‘They’re controlling the internet in a much different way.’”
I wish these “know-it-alls” would stop trying to tell us what we saw, what we heard and what to think about it all. Those days are gone biased fake news media!
You know what they say: “If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.”
