“I’m goin’ shopping, from A to Z!” My latest idea is …, virtual store browsing!

I think stores should have a series of cameras set-up that would allow you to “walk” around an actual store, virtually, and browse at what you please.

You could “walk” up and down the aisles as you wanted, zooming in and out at items that may or may not interest you.

I could also envision an option that would allow you to interact with an employee at the store to answer questions, etc., if desired.

This would be great for larger stores like Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Best Buy, Macy’s, IKEA, OfficeMax, Staples, Rooms to Go, Ashley Furniture, Bed Bath and Beyond, and even Costco.

It would behoove these stores to provide this service, because it would help to generate associated virtual orders, on-line orders as well as encourage people to go in and buy things they discovered while “walking” through the store virtually.  It may also encourage people to join clubs like Sam’s Club and Costco when they get a chance to preview what’s available there.

I could see virtual store browsing really becoming a thing to do from home or at work, by yourself or with a friend.

Virtual shopping could be a great way to just kill a little time when you want to take a break at work, or if there’s really nothing that you want to watch on TV at home.

The option to “people watch” would be there as well, if nothing else was catching your eye in the store.

Keep your eyes open.  I’m sure this will be coming soon…, and I’m looking forward to it!
