Believe me my friends…, the wild, wild, west was never this wild…, and certainly not this stupid.
Danielle Wallace of Fox News reports that, “Onlookers were seen taunting and throwing things at Philadelphia police Wednesday night amid a wild shootout and subsequent standoff that saw six cops wounded, and video posted online shows one woman shoving a police officer making his way to the scene.”

Philadelphia’s KYW-TV reporter Alexandria Hoff said, “A major moment of disappointment this evening was watching a crowd of people taunt police officers, laughing and yelling at them in the midst of the gunfire!”
Unbelievable.
Who are these “people?”
And I use the term “people” begrudgingly.
‘“Several officers with the Narcotics Strike Force were serving a warrant at the multifamily home — in connection with what may have been a drug-related offense — when things “went awry almost immediately,” and the shooter opened fire,’ Police Commissioner Richard Ross Jr. said.”
“The dramatic shootout in Philadelphia stretched on for more than eight hours as six officers were shot.”
“After withstanding more than five hours of gunfire, SWAT officers managed to get the two officers and three hostages out of the residence safely. The gunman eventually surrendered just after midnight Thursday, exiting the residence with his hands in the air and with a police light shining on him, surrounded by a cloud of tear gas.”
I applaud these officers for doing their jobs and risking their lives…, but on the other hand I have to wonder “who the hell would want to be a cop in these big cities these days?!”
You couldn’t pay me enough to put up with that crap, while risking my life everyday on top of it.
How long is it going to be before there won’t be anyone to do that job?
How long is it going to be before the gangs and drug lords run the cities and are the law there?
How far away are we from an “Escape from New York” type of scenario?
In case you’re not familiar with this movie, “Escape from New York” is a movie made in 1981 about a crime-ridden United States in 1997, (We’re over 20 years past that now!) where New York City’s Manhattan Island (the entire island) has been converted into a maximum-security prison, and “once you go in you never come out.”
Think about it.
How far are we away from just abandoning some of these cities and letting these people who want to live in a lawless world just sit there and kill each other off whenever they want?
If they don’t want the police there and they don’t appreciate the police there, then fine…, but then realize you’re on your own, and don’t come crying later.
As usual, there are all kinds of calls for additional gun control laws, blah, blah, blah…, blah, blah, blah.
Excuse me…, but isn’t discharging a weapon in the city already a crime?
Isn’t shooting at police officers already a crime?
Isn’t attempted homicide already a crime?
The problem here is with the individual.
The problem here is with the “justice” system.
This individual already had a criminal record as long as your arm.
According to Travis Fedschun of Fox News, “Court documents obtained by FOX29 show Maurice Hill’s [the shooter’s] lengthy criminal history, including a least a dozen arrests since he turned 18. The 36-year-old has been in and out of prison since 2002 after convictions for such crimes as illegal possession of guns and aggravated assault.”
“Records obtained by FOX29 also showed dozens of serious charges over the years that were later withdrawn in court.”
“Hill also spent time in federal prison, pleading guilty to federal firearms violations in 2008.”
The problem is he should have never been out on the street and free to commit another crime.
The problem is they should have locked this guy up a long time ago and thrown away the key.
The people of Philadelphia are extremely lucky that the incompetent liberal court system there didn’t cost someone their life in this latest shooting.
As usual, the liberals are demonstrating they are good at exploiting a situation rather than helping to realistically address the situation.
Slapping people on the wrists for using a gun illegally just can’t be acceptable anymore. They need to be taken out of circulation and put away.
Using a weapon improperly needs to be treated with zero tolerance.
Build 20 more prisons for these people if need be. It would definitely be worth all of the innocent lives we would save.
