Bruce Springsteen made millions of dollars bragging about how he was “Born in the USA” and “Born to Run,” back in the day.
Nowadays, I’m sure his songs would be titled “Proud to be an illegal in the USA” and “Born to whine!”
According to David Montanaro of Fox News, “Rock legend Bruce Springsteen took aim at President Trump in a new interview Friday, saying the president doesn’t ‘grasp’ the meaning of being an American.”
Oh, yes, please, Bruce…, your “legendness…,” enlighten us with your wisdom!
“In an interview on ‘CBS This Morning,’ host Gayle King asked Springsteen about a recent Trump rally in which the president bragged that his election victory in 2016 was accomplished without the support of celebrities like Springsteen, Beyoncé and Jay-Z.”
‘“You surprised that he’s trash-talking you after all this time?’ King asked.”
First of all…, how is that “trash-talking,” Gayle?
That’s not “trash-talking,” that just stating a fact.
‘“Not really. Anything’s possible,’ the New Jersey musician responded.”
Obviously not pleased with his level of “anti-Trumpness,” she decides to stoke the fire.
“King noted that ‘a lot of people are very concerned about the direction of the country,’ with Springsteen agreeing that it’s a ‘very frightening time’ in America.”
There we go, Gayle…, now that’s more like what you were looking for…, right?
Oh wait…, there’s more!
‘“The stewardship of the nation has been thrown away to somebody who doesn’t have a clue as to what that means. And unfortunately, we have somebody who I feel doesn’t have a grasp of the deep meaning of what it means to be an American [Springsteen added].’”
“The interview coincides with 70-year-old Springsteen’s release of his ‘Western Stars’ soundtrack album. Springsteen, a vocal supporter of Barack Obama in 2008 and Hillary Clinton in 2016, is no stranger to criticizing the president.”
Yes, Bruce…, I‘d have to agree that it is definitely a “frightening time in America…,” what with all of these millions of illegal and undocumented people flooding into our country on a weekly basis, into sanctuary cities that protect them from being held accountable for any crimes they may commit. And then we end up paying for their Healthcare and Welfare on top of it. Then we have the whole freedom of speech issue as well as the freedom of thought issue being threatened by all of your tolerant friends. Ya…, it’s pretty frightening alright.
And it’s pretty presumptuous to believe that you know what it means to “be an American” better than anyone else does.
“In an interview with Esquire last year, Springsteen said Trump has ‘no interest in uniting the country’ despite wanting to make America great again. The famed rock and roller explained at the time why Trump’s presidency is ‘unforgivable.’”
‘“[He] has no interest in uniting the country and actually has an interest in doing the opposite and dividing us, which he does on an almost daily basis,’ he claimed.”
‘“That’s simply a crime against humanity, as far as I’m concerned. It’s an awful, awful message to send out into the world. You are intentionally trying to disenfranchise a large portion of Americans. That’s unforgivable. These are folks who are invested in denying the idea of a united America and an America for all. It’s a critical moment. It’s a scary moment for any conscientious American, I think.’”
Wow.
Does Springsteen ever listen to himself and then think about what his people, the democrats, liberals, ANTIFA and the fake news media practice on a daily basis?
The Democrats’ messaging is not inclusive…, it’s divisive.
Their whole mission in this country is to divide and conquer.
Your level of confusion is impressive, Bruce, uh…, I mean “Boss.”
Please get a clue. You can’t really be that stupid.
The nickname “Boss” just doesn’t seem to fit anymore.., “The Punk” seems more apropos these days.
I should disclose that in my younger days, Bruce Springsteen was definitely one of my favorites, music-wise.
We’ve evolved quite a bit since then, Bruce.
Me towards understanding what our real problems are…, and you becoming a part of the problem.
