Death toll hits 14,000!  But I’m not talking about the coronavirus.

The 14,000 deaths, at least, that I’m talking about is from the annual flu bug in the United States.

So where’s all of the hysteria about that?

14,000 deaths!

And 14,000 deaths is on the low end of the national estimate.  That number could be as high as 36,000!

The latest number we have for coronavirus related deaths is…, 22.

Yeah…, that’s right…, just 2-2.

acorona2 1

Additionally, according to the “Advisory Board” website, “The 2019-2020 flu season has seen the most pediatric deaths in a decade.”

“This flu season has been especially bad for children, according to the CDC. The latest CDC report shows 92 pediatric deaths had been reported as of Feb. 8, the highest number by week since the 2009-2010 flu season, in which 262 pediatric deaths had occurred by this point in the season, according to CDC.”

“ScienceAlert” website reports that, “Parents are understandably concerned. But it’s important to keep in mind that comparatively few children have tested positive for the coronavirus, and deaths in children are very rare.”

“The number of reported COVID-19 cases in children remains low: of more than 44,000 confirmed cases from China, only 416 (less than 1 percent) were aged nine years or younger. No deaths were reported in this age group.”

“The majority of children and adolescents with COVID-19 in China had mild infections and recovered within one to two weeks.”

So the regular old annual flu virus is considerably more dangerous for children that the coronavirus.  In fact, it appears the coronavirus isn’t dangerous for children at all.

Have we heard the fake news media reporting this?

In fact, it appears that the coronavirus isn’t really dangerous at all, except to elderly people and people who are already experiencing some form of disease or illness.

Have we heard the fake news reporting this?

The “Advisory Board” website goes on to say “Between 26 million and 36 million people have been stricken with the flu as of Feb. 8, according to the latest CDC data.”

Again…, “Between 26 MILLION and 36 MILLION people have been stricken with the flu [in the U.S.] as of Feb. 8, according to the latest CDC data.”

And we have that many cases and we already have a vaccine for the flu!

And how many people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus?

Around 500.

That’s right…, 500.

26,000,000-36,000,000 versus 500.

Oh…, but the world is coming to an end because of the coronavirus!

The hysteria being created by the fake news media and the democrats is obviously politically motivated.

Just looking at the numbers, what else could explain their reporting regarding the suppression of the flu figures and the hype of the coronavirus numbers?

As usual, what we have here is the democrats taking advantage of a crisis…, albeit a manufactured crisis.

If the fake news media and the democrats were really concerned about our wellbeing, they would be putting the coronavirus in the proper perspective and being more outspoken about the dangers of the flu virus.

It’s as simple as that.

If you could catch the virus from watching TV or reading a paper, they wouldn’t be hyping it.  I guarantee you that!

You scared of the Coronavirus?

Were you as scared of the flu, we’re all so familiar with, a month or two ago?

Based on the numbers, if you’re going to be scared, you should be just as scared of the flu…, actually you should be much more scared of the flu!

According to Jamie Ducharme of TIME Magazine, even though we have vaccines for the flu, “In total, the CDC estimates that up to 42.9 million people got sick during the 2018-2019 flu season [November thru April, or about six months], 647,000 people were hospitalized and 61,200 died.”

And that’s only in the U.S.

Currently 2 people have died from the Coronavirus in the U.S.

Two.

The MedicineNet website reports that, “Seasonal flu kills 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year, according to a new estimate.”

Wait…, what’s that again?

The MedicineNet website reports that, “Seasonal flu kills 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year, according to a new estimate.”

The flu kills 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year!!!

Joshua Berlinger, Jessie Yeung, Adam Renton, Mike Hayes, Rachel Bowman and Meg Wagner of CNN say the, “Coronavirus death toll tops 3,000.”

That’s in the two months of January and February of 2020.

3,000.

The good old seasonal flu we’re used to “kills 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year.”

Again…, that’s 291,000 to 646,000!

And you’re all worked up about the Coronavirus?

Now why would that be?

Hmmm, let me think.

Could it be because the fake news, liberal propaganda is blowing the Coronavirus all out of proportion?

I believe the answer to that question is “yes.”

aflu 8

I mean…, 291,000 to 646,000 people have been dying from the flu year after year after year after year, and no one seemed to be making a big deal about it.

Am I wrong?

And now 3,000 have died from the Coronavirus and the fake news media and the disingenuous democrat leadership are all losing their minds?

aflu 4

Why are these 3,000 people so special, compared to the 291,000 to 646,000 people that annually from the flu now?

Denise Grady, of The New York Times, reports, “As the United States recorded its first coronavirus death Saturday…, Americans wondered how to measure this new threat against a more familiar foe: influenza.”

“President Donald Trump, a self-described ‘germaphobe,’ said Wednesday he was amazed to learn that tens of thousands of Americans died from the flu each year, contrasting that number with the 60 or so known to be infected with the coronavirus. On Friday, [President] Trump accused the news media and Democrats of exaggerating the dangers of the virus.”

Isn’t that obvious?

And getting the Coronavirus is not a “death sentence.”  In fact most people are able to recover from the virus, just like most people are able to recover from the flu.

aflu 6

“Both the coronavirus and influenza are most dangerous to people who are older than 65, or have chronic illnesses or a weak immune system.

“There seems to be another important difference: The flu appears far more dangerous to children, particularly very young ones, who can become severely ill. Children infected with the new coronavirus tend to have mild or no symptoms.”

“As of Feb. 22, in the current [flu] season there were at least 32 million cases of flu in the United States, 310,000 hospitalizations and 18,000 flu deaths, according to the CDC. Hospitalization rates among children and young adults this year have been unusually high.”

aflu 1

So again, I ask you, where is the panic and finger pointing regarding our current flu numbers?

The current flu numbers are far, far worse compared to the current Coronavirus numbers.

“Doctors can recommend only the usual remedies for [ANY] viral illness: rest, medicine to reduce pain and fever, and fluids to avoid dehydration.”

We’ve all been there, haven’t we?

These “remedies,” “…can lessen the severity of the illness and shorten its course by a day or so, and they may lower the risk of serious complications.”

Anyway…, hopefully, I’ve managed to calm you down about the Coronavirus, raise your awareness about the flu, and raise your awareness as to how the fake news media and the disingenuous democrat leadership attempt to control and manipulate “the news.”
