President Trump’s response to the shootings in El Paso and Dayton is “spot on,” in my opinion.
And the democrats’ reaction to his remarks are what I would have expected as well…, exploitative, hypocritical and disingenuous.
Oh…, and foul-mouthed tweets contributed by democrat presidential candidates, Cory Booker, Tim Ryan and Beto O’Rourke.
According to Brooke Singman of Fox News, “President Trump called Monday for reforms at the intersection of mental health and gun laws — including so-called ‘red flag laws’ to take guns from those deemed a public risk — in the wake of back-to-back mass shootings over the weekend that left at least 30 people dead.”
“In unequivocal terms, the president also condemned white supremacy, responding to reports that the shooter in El Paso wrote a racist manifesto.”
Is it just me, or is “the media” always quick to pursue the racism angle when a white perpetrator or a conservative is involved, but completely the opposite when a non-white perpetrator or a liberal leaning individual is involved?
The Dayton shooter appears to be a liberal whacko…, but they’re keeping that on the “down low.”
Just sayin’.
‘“In one voice, our nation must condemn racism, bigotry and white supremacy,’ President Trump said, standing beside Vice President Pence. ‘These sinister ideologies must be defeated. Hatred has no place in America.’”
Spoken like a true racist…, right Bernie?
“Senator Bernie Sanders, asked that ‘Trump please stop the racist anti-immigrant rhetoric. Stop the hatred in this country which is creating the kind of violence we see.’”
It seems to me that it is the democrats who are promoting divisiveness between the races, cultural groups, and socioeconomic groups for their own benefit.
This statement by Bernie Sanders is just another example of it.
Then we have democrat presidential candidate, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, saying ‘“This is white nationalist terrorism.’”
‘“We need to acknowledge that this is a problem,’ Buttigieg said, claiming white nationalism has been ‘condoned at the highest levels’ in Washington.
Excuse me, Mayor Pete, but the only group in Washington that has a history of condoning white supremacy are the democrats.
My two best examples would be former Senator Robert Byrd and former Supreme Court Justice, Hugo Black.
Robert Byrd served in the Senate for 52 years, and was referred to as “her mentor” by Hillary Clinton!
According to Richard Stockton of ATI (All That’s Interesting website), “Byrd never once lost an election. Unfortunately, that last record includes the time he was unanimously elected Exalted Cyclops of the KKK chapter he founded and built into a major force.”
By 1942, “Byrd had already recruited at least 150 of West Virginia’s power elite into a Klavern (a local KKK unit) with himself at its head. In 1952, with the winds of change already blowing, Byrd claimed in an interview to have quickly become disillusioned with the KKK, and to have dropped out by 1943. Even if that account is true, it doesn’t explain why, in 1946, Byrd wrote the following to the Grand Wizard: ‘The Klan is needed today as never before, and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia and in every state in the nation.’”
Regarding former Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black, “It was said of Black that in his youth he dressed in white robes and scared black folks, in his later years he dressed up in black robes and scared white folks.”
“Black started out as a country lawyer who defended a Klansman accused of killing a Catholic priest in what was an obvious hate crime. Soon after, Black joined the Alabama KKK. Later, Black was elected to the Senate.”
“Black was an enthusiastic supporter of [President Franklin] Roosevelt, and in 1937, Black’s loyalty was rewarded with an appointment to the Supreme Court.”
“President Trump also tweeted about the possibility of ‘linking background check legislation to immigration reform.’ However, he said he is ‘open and ready to listen to ideas that will actually work.’”
Just remember, democrats are only interested in ideas that actually work on getting them re-elected, not ideas which would address an actual problem in our society.
“Among his list of proposals, Trump called for reforms to mental health laws ‘to better identify mentally disturbed individuals who may commit acts of violence,’ adding that we must ‘make sure those people not only get treatment but when necessary, involuntary confinement.’”
‘“Mental illness and hatred pulls the trigger, not the gun,’ Trump said.”
“The president also called for “cultural” changes, citing violent video games…, further, he called for policing the ‘dark recesses of the Internet ‘in a bid to catch mass murderers before they act. We must also do a better job at identifying and acting on early warning signs,’ [President] Trump said. ‘We must stop the glorification of violence in our society. This includes the gruesome and grisly video games that are now commonplace…It is too easy for troubled youth to surround themselves with a culture that celebrates violence. We must stop or substantially reduce this and it has to begin immediately,’ he added”
“Within minutes of completing his address, 2020 Democratic presidential candidates were slamming his remarks as insufficient.”
‘“The president is weak. And wrong. White supremacy is not a mental illness, and guns are a tool that white supremacists use to fulfill their hate,’ Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., tweeted.”
White supremacy may not be a mental illness, Cory, but liberalism sure appears to be!
“The attacks have revived the national debate over how to tackle gun violence, with many Democrats demanding the Senate return from recess to address the issue. A number of Democratic lawmakers and presidential candidates have also accused the president of fueling racial tensions with his rhetoric.”
Only when you are viewing his remarks through your own political and racially focused set of lenses.
