Hollywood hypocrites love to “dish it out,” but they sure can’t take it!

Ricky Gervais is an English stand-up comedian, actor, writer, director, producer, and musician.  He is best known for creating, writing and acting in the original British television series “The Office.”

He also hosted The Golden Globe awards show last night, and according to Yahoo senior writer, Ethan Alter, Gervais “attacked Hollywood” in his monologue and “went a little too far.”

Awwww, poor Hollywood!

Inexplicably, I actually caught Gervais’ opening monologue last night, and I thought it was actually refreshing to see all those Hollywood prima donnas take their comeuppance.

If pointing out Hollywood’s hypocrisy and laying out the truth is going too far, then so be it!

You haven’t seen President Trump, or his supporters crying about the abuse they’ve been forced to stomach at the hands of all of these Hollywood hypocrites, have you?

‘“This is the last time I’m hosting these awards,’ Ricky Gervais said moments after taking the stage at the 77th Golden Globe Awards for his fifth hosting gig. Based on the audience reaction to his bridge-burning, F-bomb-laden monologue, this might be the last time he’s allowed in Hollywood… let alone at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s [HFPA’s} annual shindig. The mood in the room was essentially summed up by everyone’s favorite L.A. neighbor Tom Hanks — this year’s recipient of the HFPA’s Cecil B. DeMille Award — whose face displayed an expression of shock and disgust every time the cameras found him in the crowd.”

“One of those jokes that noticeably raised Hanks’s ire was Gervais’ suggestion that the license plate on his HFPA-hired limo was made by Felicity Huffman during her brief prison stay after she was swept up in the college admissions scandal.”

HA!

“Gervais proved anything but embarrassed as he continued to call out the rich and famous on their privileged lifestyle. ‘If you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a political platform to make a political speech,’ he warned. ‘You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything, you know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So, if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your God and f*** off. OK?’”

BWAHAHA!

Thank you for that Rickey!  No truer words were ever said!  And they are words that many of us have been dying to say for many years.

“Meanwhile, tech world titan [and Apple CEO], Tim Cook, looked on stone-faced as Gervais praised Apple TV+’s marquee series ‘The Morning Show’ as a ‘superb drama about the importance of dignity and doing the right thing made by a company who owns sweatshops in China. You say you’re woke but the companies you work for — Apple, Amazon, Disney — if ISIS started a streaming service, you would call your agent, wouldn’t you?’”

OUCH!

Tyler McCarthy of Fox News added that, “The biggest stars in TV and film gathered in Beverly Hills in the hopes of kicking off the 2020 awards season with a highly coveted Golden Globe award, and notoriously controversial host Ricky Gervais wasted no time laying into the Hollywood elite vying for a big win.”

“He called out the many stars in the room for their relationship to large corporations like Apple, Amazon and Disney.”

“Gervais then mocked the stars in attendance for their relation to the late sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. Gervais declared that Epstein didn’t kill himself, prompting groans from the crowd.”

‘“Shut up, I know he’s your friend but I don’t care!’”

BAM!

“He also took a shot at Leonardo DiCaprio for his film ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ being three hours long.”

‘“Leonardo DiCaprio attended the premiere and, by the end, his date was too old for him!’”

Ha!

“He added: ‘Even Prince Andrew is like, “Come on Leo, mate. You’re nearly 50.”’”

OUCH, and double OUCH!

Way to go Ricky!

It was a beautiful thing, watching all of the stunned faces as the comedic tables were turned on them for a change.
