I guess you could say the 2018 Midterm Election was a “win-win” situation.

There definitely was no “blue wave” sited in the 2018 Midterm election results last night, although, at last count, the Democrats did pick-up 26 seats in the House of Representatives and regained control there.  They needed at least 23 to accomplish this.

Regarding the Senate, I think you would have to say that there was a bit of a “red wave” siting.  The Republicans not only did not lose seats, but at last count, they managed to pick-up 3 seats, and that number will likely end up being 4 or even 5.

To put this performance by the Republicans in perspective, let’s look at the results of the midterm election, after President Obama’s first two years, in 2010.

In the midterm of election of 2010, the Democrat Party suffered massive defeats in many national and state level elections, with many seats switching to Republican Party control.  Although the President’s party usually loses congressional, statewide and local seats in midterm elections, the 2010 midterm election season featured some of the biggest losses since the Great Depression. The Republican Party gained 63 seats in the House of Representatives, recapturing the majority, and making it the largest seat change since 1948 and the largest for any midterm election since the 1938 midterm elections. The Republicans also gained 6 seats in the U.S. Senate.

So, overall, I think the Republicans can fairly say this election was quite successful, while the Democrats should feel like it was a bit disappointing, even though they managed to regain control of The House.

In my estimation, the “biggest losers” of the midterm elections were the Obamas, Hollywood celebrities in general and these major democrat contributors.

Despite numerous appearances in Georgia and Florida by Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and others, both states were swept by the Republicans.

Barack Obama fancies himself as the most popular president of all time, and Michelle thinks she is some uncontested “voice of reason” in America.  They have obviously overestimated their popularity and influence.  During Barack’s last appearances, he looked like he was rode hard and put away wet, and his voice sounded like he looked.

President Trump, on the other hand, worked tirelessly over that last month, and his popularity and energy definitely did make a big difference for races with national implications, like those in the Senate and various governorships.

Apparently most Americans are not buying that President Trump is the incarnation of evil that democrats and the “biased, liberal, fake news media” would have us believe.

Pop Singer Taylor Swift’s support was rebuked in the Tennessee Senate race, and Beto O’Rourke could not buy the Senate seat in Texas.  Over $70 million was spent in the Texas Senate race, making it the most expensive in U.S. history.  Between Texas, Georgia and Florida alone, these rich democrat investors wasted over $150 million of their money on their preferred candidates.

In the end, the Democrats won and the Republicans won.

The Republicans’ win was just a little more impressive.

President Trump’s rally song, by The Rolling Stones, is pretty apropos here.

“You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need.”

In 2018, both parties got what they needed, but not all that they wanted.

election results 2018 2

Midterm Election Day 2018 is finally here, and it’s time to vote!

As we prepare to go out and cast our votes today, remember this:

Liberal politician and “biased, liberal, fake news media” election predictions are like a-holes.  They all have one, and they all stink!

All we have to do is look at the snapshot of the tweet from The (failing) New York Times (at the bottom of the blog) to remind ourselves how accurate these polls are nowadays.

Do you remember: “Donald Trump has no path to victory.”

Then around midnight, on election night 2016, we heard, “Hillary Clinton has no path to victory.”

Hmmm.  It’s funny how that works!

It ain’t over till it’s over!

We’ve seen them all these past few months, predicting a “blue wave” and touting all of their, what we know are, skewed poll figures.

Well, it’s time to vote now.

The time for predictions and polling are over.

Historically, the party NOT in power in The White House (the democrats this year) pick up quite a few seats in The House of Representatives and The Senate.

Add to that the fact that republicans lost roughly three times the amount of incumbent representatives than the democrats did, and we can see that the republicans are facing a significant challenge here.

On the other hand, President Trump has been “barnstorming” and rallying all over the country in a midterm election blitz, reminiscent of the final days of his presidential campaign.

The republicans also have, what has recently been called, “the strongest economy in US history” to run on.

I feel that this election is also going to be a referendum on our country’s borders, and how we approach immigration.  Do we want “open borders?”  The American people see that enormous “caravan” of potential illegal immigrants getting closer to our southern border every day.  I guess we’ll see.

Let’s just recap some of the democrat party positions.  What do the democrats want?:

Democrats want to double down and even triple down on nationalized health care.  Reinstating ObamaCare isn’t even acceptable for the democrats at this point.  They want complete government control of health care, at a cost that would double or triple our annual budget.

Of course, this would mean higher taxes, and when I say “higher taxes” I mean an ungodly increase of our taxes.

Democrats want “open borders.”  “Open borders” means anyone can come walking into our country from anywhere, at any time, and they assume all of the rights and benefits of an American citizen immediately upon entry…, including the right to vote!

There are a myriad of problems associated with this philosophy.  As President Trump says, “A country without borders is not a country.”  This concept sounds good while we’re sitting around, holding hands and singing “We Are the World,” but it’s not feasible when we’re talking about national security, spending budgets, allocations of benefits, national economic planning and maintenance, our election system.  Not to mention our Constitution.

Democrats want to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  If democrats are promoting “open borders,” it only makes sense that they want to get rid of the law enforcement agency that deals with immigration violators and people bringing illegal drugs and other items into our country.

So, in addition to allowing anyone to walk into our country from anywhere, at any time, democrats want to allow anything and everything to be brought into our country without question.

Democrats want to change our economic system from capitalism to socialism.  Socialism calls for public rather than private ownership or control of property and natural resources.  According to the socialist view, individuals do not live or work for themselves, but for the good of the whole.  Everything that people produce is in essence a social product, and everyone is entitled to a share in it.  Society as a whole, therefore, should own or at least control property for the benefit of all its members.

Please note that our country, the wealthiest and most powerful country in the world, was built through capitalism.  Also please note that socialism, or its close relative communism, has never been successful where tried around the world.

“The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.” – Former British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher

Democrats want to stifle our freedom of thought.  We see evidence of this every day.  We see it when conservatives are verbally and physically harassed out in public.  We see it on college campuses, where a diversity of thought is feared and looked down upon (this should be the last place where this should occur).  We see it in the entertainment industry, where entertainers are shunned and criticized for independent thought, and the rest of us are inundated by their biased renderings on daily and nightly basis.

Democrats want to return to an America that puts global interests before the interests of our own country.  Democrats are chomping at the bit to destabilize our economy and return the manufacturing and trading advantages back to our global neighbors.

Remember, their “guidebook” is “Rules for Radicals,” a book dedicated to “Lucifer’” by the way, by Saul Alinsky.  Alinsky is Hillary Clinton’s mentor, and Barack Obama was a follower as well.  Realizing this helps us to make more sense out of their actions.

The goal of the democrats, and Alinsky’s mission was, and is, to “incite constant struggle and agitation so that the oppressive ‘system’ would eventually be brought to its knees.”  The core of Alinsky’s belief is destruction.  Destruction of the “system” that allows a disparity of wealth (please see the prior section on socialism).

Democrats want our economy and freedoms to bow at the altar of “climate change, “global Warming,” whatever you want to call it. Liberals in America have successfully brainwashed many Americans, and others around the world, into believing the Earth is burning up, and the villain is carbon dioxide, the gas that makes all living things grow, by the way.  It doesn’t take much to see their “climate change religion” is really based on fiction, not fact.

But this plays right into their globalist intentions, and would further raise the cost of food and energy for no rational reason.

Democrats have spent billions of taxpayer dollars financing a junk, “green,” science industry and worthless renewable energy schemes that just don’t work in the real world.

Democrats/liberals believe that our National Anthem is somehow “racist,” that our Flag is “offensive,” and that our history and heritage should be erased because it is “offensive” to some as well. Liberals in America are offended by so much that it is hard to keep track of.  It’s a sad way to go through life, and I wish them well in overcoming their affliction.

This democrat “to do” list should be frightening enough, but it doesn’t even include the topics of abortion, our gun rights and the 2nd amendment, and the two-tiered justice system for members of “the swamp” and then everyone else.

Whose side are the liberals/democrats on anyway?!

Is all of this really what you want to see happen?

If it is, then go ahead and vote for the democrats.

red wave

If not, then vote RED, vote for the republicans on your ballot.

Vote RED to keep our economy rolling.

Vote RED because you like America being respected around the world again.

Vote RED because you like our President putting America first regarding international trade deals and foreign policy.

Vote RED because you want to see Americans rights, safety and benefits put first before illegal immigrant rights, safety and benefits.

I’m hoping and looking for a “BIG RED WAVE’ tonight!

I am confident the republicans will retain control of The Senate, and if they can retain control of The House, by even one vote, I’ll consider that a success as well.

Stay tuned for my blog tomorrow for all of the election results!

Oh, and hey, by the way…, whatever happened to the Robert Mueller midterm election surprise indictments regarding all of that supposed Russian collusion?  If Mueller had ANYTHING, ANYTHING AT ALL, you know it would have come out prior to the midterms.  It is definitely time for the democrats, Mueller and Mueller’s team to give it up and go get some real jobs.

nyt prediction

It’s not “just” one vote.  It’s MY one vote!

If the American people lose confidence in the integrity of our election system, we are one big step closer to our republic dissolving right before our eyes.

We hear about examples of voter fraud, and liberals (And please note: The issue of voter fraud is exclusively synonymous with liberals/democrats) are always quick to discount our voter fraud concerns as “not that prevalent,” “inconsequential,” “unfounded,” or “very rare.”  Then they will quickly turn the discussion to the “real” problem, in their minds, of voter suppression, which truly is virtually a non-existent problem.

Anyone who wants to vote in this country surely gets every opportunity to do so.

Can you imagine how quickly the “biased, liberal, fake news media” would jump on any credible case of voter suppression?

I rest my case.

Okay.  Back to the concerns about voter fraud.

The big question is how many fraudulent votes are acceptable?

Who’s going to the first one to stand up and volunteer to have their vote cancelled out by a fraudulent vote?

Not me.

And I’m guessing not you either.

The right to vote in a free and fair election is our most basic civil right, and one on which many other rights of the American people depend.

Our government should be able to guarantee that every eligible individual who wants to vote can, and that no one’s vote is stolen or discounted.

Voter fraud is real and hundreds of convictions have been made and documented.

According to The Heritage Foundation:

Contrary to the claims of many liberals, the problem of voter fraud is as old as the country itself.  As the U.S. Supreme Court noted when it upheld Indiana’s voter identification law in 2008, “flagrant examples” of voter fraud “have been documented throughout this Nation’s history by respected historians and journalists.”

Attempts to commandeer election results have been documented dating back to the 1800’s.  In one New York election in 1844, 55,000 votes were recorded even though there were only 41,000 eligible voters. Decades later, these efforts have continued and determined fraudsters have become only more creative in their efforts to fix the outcome of elections.

So what are the different types of election fraud that liberals use in an attempt to undermine our election system?  Well, here they are:

Impersonation fraud at the polls: Voting in the name of other legitimate voters and voters who have died, moved away, lost their right to vote for some reason, but remain registered.

False registrations: Voting under fraudulent voter registrations that either use a phony name and a real or fake address or claim residence in a particular jurisdiction where the registered voter does not actually live and is not entitled to vote.

Duplicate voting: Registering in multiple locations and voting in the same election in more than one jurisdiction or state.

Fraudulent use of absentee ballots: Requesting absentee ballots and voting without the knowledge of the actual voter; or obtaining the absentee ballot from a voter and either filling it in directly and forging the voter’s signature or illegally telling the voter who to vote for.

Buying votes: Paying voters to cast either an in-person or absentee ballot for a particular candidate.

Illegal “assistance” at the polls: Forcing or intimidating voters, particularly the elderly, disabled, illiterate, and those for whom English is a second language, to vote for particular candidates while supposedly providing them with “assistance.”

Ineligible voting: Illegal registration and voting by individuals who are not U.S. citizens, or are otherwise not eligible to vote.

Manipulating someone’s vote automatically at the voting machine.

Altering the vote count: Changing the actual vote count either in a precinct or at the central location where votes are counted.

Altering the vote count: Changing the actual vote count either in a precinct or at the central location where votes are counted.

So, who is responsible for ensuring the integrity of our elections?

Each state is generally responsible for the administration of its own electoral systems, including elections for federal office.  This being the case, I feel we open ourselves up to many problems, mostly because the states don’t have access to national databases, which presents the possibility of citizens being registered in multiple states and voting in multiple states.

Of course MrEricksonRules has his own remedy for all of our voting integrity woes!

First, our government needs to establish a new national holiday called “Election Day,” of course.  This would offer everyone every opportunity and ample time to vote.  Especially those people who work for a living.

There would be no “early” voting.  All voting would occur on Election Day.

All voting machines would be identical, and issued to the states by the federal government.

Polling stations would be manned by current federal and/or state employees.  This would give us a level of accountability we currently don’t have.

All votes would have to be cast in person.  The practice of using absentee ballots would be discontinued.  Military personnel would vote at their duty stations and their votes would be routed to their corresponding state based on a military database.  Others unable to be in their “home” state to vote on Election Day would be able to cast a provisional ballot in the state they were physically in, then each state would then be responsible for sending these votes to their respective states.  These votes would only be counted if the total number of provisional votes could potentially change the outcome of the election.

Every adult individual would be required to obtain a Federal Voter Identification Card, if they want to vote.

An initial “national voter database” would be established by cross referencing the IRS database, national military databases, national benefit databases, Social Security databases, along with Medicare and Medicaid databases.

Initial Federal Voter Identification Cards would then be mailed out based on this database.  People not receiving cards by a given date would then be responsible for acquiring a card at designated state or federal locations.

Any person voting who could not be verified on the national voter database would be casting a provisional ballot.

Once you have voted, this would be entered into the national voting database, which would limit you from voting again, in the current election.

There you go.

Problem solved.

Any other problems or issues of national importance may be submitted at any time to Mr. Erickson at MrEricksonRules.com.

“A vote is like a rifle: its usefulness depends upon the character of the user.” – President Teddy Roosevelt

So everyone get out there and vote (only once please, and only in the district you’re supposed to vote in please, and only if you are a legal citizen of The United States and of legal age please), tomorrow, on November 6th!

You know the old saying: “If you can’t beat ‘em, silence ‘em!”

So you don’t remember it quite like that?  Me neither.  But then again I’m not a democrat/liberal.

If you’re a democrat/liberal, the ends justify the means.  There is no concern about being fair…, just winning.  If they can’t beat you fair and square, they’ll change the rules, change the playing field, or just have you taken out of the game.

In this instance, we’re referring to cable news ratings.  Specifically between the three major cable news networks: CNN, Fox News and MSNBC.

According to Mark Joyella, who is a contributor for Forbes.com, “Fox News Crushes The Cable News Competition In October Ratings.”

Just to be clear, Fox News channel routinely “crushes” CNN and MSNBC, and it’s been that way for years now.  What we’re really talking about in October is an annihilation, or a complete domination.

Most of the time, Fox News Channel’s competitors can point to something and say, “we beat them here” or “we beat them there.  It could be just an hour slot during the day or a special weekend show.  Earlier this year MSNBC’s prime-time “star” Rachel Maddow turned in her show’s best week ever, and the liberal media were all popping the champagne.  But that was then and this is now.

Joyella confessed that, “Fox News wiped the floor with CNN and MSNBC in October, beating the combined ratings of the two networks in prime-time, and delivering wall-to-wall wins across all key day parts. Fox News also saw its ratings climb in October from the same month a year ago, as its competition, with few exceptions, saw significant viewership drops.”

See what I mean?  Complete and utter domination.

For the seventh month in a row, Fox News host Sean Hannity (the unrivaled King of Cable News) was the most-watched host in cable news, with a total audience of 3.495 million.

Fox News then continued by running the table with the top-five most-watched shows in prime, with Hannity followed by Tucker Carlson (3.231 million), Laura Ingraham (2.973 million), The Five (2.838 million) and Special Report with Bret Baier (2.668 million).

Several Fox News shows, including The Ingraham Angle, The Story with Martha MacCallum, Outnumbered with Harris Faulkner, The Daily Briefing with Dana Perino and Fox News at Night with Shannon Bream had all-time high ratings in October.

Overall, Fox News viewership was up +25 percent in October (in total viewers).  Among viewers 25-54 years old, the key demographic coveted by advertisers, Fox grew compared to October 2017 by +13 percent, while CNN was down -11 percent and MSNBC was down -19 percent.

MSNBC had several of its key shows, including Morning Joe, All In with Chris Hayes, The Rachel Maddow Show, The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell and The 11th Hour with Brian Williams return their lowest-rated month of 2018 in October.

MSNBC was largely uncontested for second place overall (If you ain’t first, you’re last!), beating CNN among total viewers in prime time and total day viewership for the 13th consecutive month.

You can infer whatever you want from these numbers, but in any case it isn’t good for the state of “biased, liberal, fake news.”

So, how are the liberals and the “biased, liberal, fake news media” responding?

They are sicking the liberal media group “Media Matters” on Fox News, in an attempt to mount negative pressure on their advertisers!

According to Brian Stelter at CNN Business, “Media Matters’ president Angelo Carusone, who previously led boycotts against Glenn Beck and others, said on Monday that Fox’s programming ‘is only getting more extreme and volatile,’ and that’s why he is taking action now.”

“‘Fox News’ never-ending focus on demonizing political opponents and front-line communities, echoing [President] Trump and framing the struggle against these groups as an urgent matter of life or death, makes the network an increasingly bad business decision for advertisers,’ Carusone said.”

“Liberal critics of Fox, like Carusone, have pointed a finger directly at Fox, accusing the media company of inflaming tensions across the country.”

“Neera Tanden, the president of the liberal Center for American Progress, tweeted on Sunday, ‘It really is time to boycott Fox News advertisers. Who has the list? I’m game.’”

“Media Matters has been moving in this direction for a while. The group challenged Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity’s advertisers in the past.”

“In his statement on Monday, Carusone named ‘major Fox News advertisers’ like Expedia, McDonalds and Capital One.  Media Matters also published a list of other advertisers on its website.

Carusone urged the companies to ‘listen to their customers’ and ‘consider suspending their relationship with Fox News until the network makes meaningful changes to curb its propagandistic narratives that intentionally spread disinformation and incentivize violence.’”

These accusations are typical for “the swamp.”  They charge others with doing exactly what they are guilty of doing in an effort to deflect attention from themselves and shut down and silence anyone who disagrees with them or anyone who challenges their liberal narrative.

In a statement to CNN, Marianne Gambelli, the president of ad sales for Fox News and Fox Business, said “we cannot and will not allow voices to be censored by agenda-driven intimidation efforts.”

“Media Matters continues to turn a blind eye to every television network but Fox News since it’s the only outlet that doesn’t subscribe to their extreme left-wing political agenda,” she said.

Fox News has quite a bit of experience fending off advertiser pressure campaigns like this, however

Sean Hannity has been outspoken in his opposition to boycotts of all kinds.

“EVERY American should see the danger of politically motivated efforts and boycotts to silence speech they disagree with,” he said.

Hang in there FOX!  Without you we would be at the mercy of the “biased, liberal, fake news media,” and their uncontested “fake news” would sadly become just “the news” again, and our country would be worse off because of it.

FOX-News-1-for-7-Years-and-counting cropped

I’ve had my suspicions about CNN host Don Lemon’s stupidity…, and now he opened his mouth again and confirmed my suspicions!

CNN host Don Lemon (who is black by the way), during an on-air rant, declared that “white men” are the biggest terror threat to the United States, bemoaning that “there is no white-guy ban” and wondered aloud, “what do we do about that?”

Lemon went on to tell his CNN colleague, Chris Cuomo, “… we have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them.”

Fox News contributor Deroy Murdock said the racism coming from the left and mainstream media has become “breathtaking,” pointing to Lemon’s comment as the latest example.

“Lemon’s latest spurt of acid is a most unusual plea for national unity. ‘We have to stop demonizing people,’ and then, just two words later, a blast of divisiveness worthy of a machete,” Murdock said. “Painting with a roller rather than a mere broad brush, Lemon slams millions of his fellow Americans. He does not say they are wrong, mistaken, or misinformed. Rather, that are a ‘terror threat.’”

Murdock continued: Even worse, Lemon advises, ‘We have to start doing something about them.’ I shudder at the thought of what Lemon has in mind.”

“The American Left, of which ‘objective journalist’ Lemon clearly is a leader, is good at only one thing, psychological projection. Rather than contend with their own flaws, they accuse others of bearing them. Lemon and his ilk accuse President Trump of being racist and divisive, which serves as incredibly thin cover for their own racist, divisive rhetoric. The only good news here is that the American people increasingly see past the Left’s psychological self-delusion and recognize these people as what they are… increasingly violent bigots,” Murdock said.

Fox News Senior Political Analyst Brit Hume added, “I could hardly believe he actually said that, but the video shows he certainly did. Remarkable.”

Donald Trump Jr. tweeted the video captioned, ‘Imagine the outrage if you changed ‘white men’ with any other [racial] demographic?”

I would like to remind “Mr.” Lemon that there are currently over 2 million people in prisons, jails, and detention centers in our country.

Nearly three-quarters of federal inmates, 71.4%, are either of African American or Latino descent. That’s 37.6% (Black) and 33.8% (Latino) respectively. The problem with this is that these two groups collectively only make up 21.3% of the entire American population!

White Americans make up 25% of the federal prison population but are 63.7% of the US population.

Perhaps “Mr.” Lemon should reconsider exactly what men are the biggest “threats,” what men should be “banned,” and what men need something done about them.

“Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

“The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.” – Albert Einstein

“Stupidity is also a gift of God, but one mustn’t misuse it.” – Pope John Paul II

“Stupidity has a knack of getting in its own way.” – Albert Camus

“Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.” -George Carlin

“We can be anything we choose to be in this life.  It’s strange that so many people choose to be stupid.” – MrEricksonRules

“Life is hard. It’s even harder if you’re stupid.” – John Wayne

“Everyone has the right to be stupid.  It’s just that some people abuse the privilege.” – Unknown

Fake News Here!  Fake News here!  Get Your Fake News here!

The “biased, liberal, fake news media” just can’t help themselves.  Their “spin” on EVERY issue is so negative towards our President, and it is so painfully obvious.

Their coordinated propaganda disguised as “news” isn’t fooling anybody anymore, except the few mindless liberals that may stumble across their channel and can’t see the truth, or those who don’t want to see the truth, and are complicit in the “fake news” narrative.

As I have pointed out before, well over 98% of Americans don’t pay attention to any news, much less “fake news,” but it does get annoying and, on principle alone, it should not be allowed to go unchallenged.

Let’s define and “dig in” to “fake news” a little bit, however, before we continue.

First of all, “fake news” is nothing new.  There are references to “fake news” in newspapers and political cartoons dating back to the late 1800’s.

Wikipedia (a free on-line encyclopedia) says that, “‘Fake news’ is a type of “yellow journalism” (journalism that is based upon sensationalism and crude exaggeration) or propaganda that consists of deliberate disinformation, or hoaxes, spread via traditional print and broadcast news media or online social media.”

“The term is also, at times, used to cast doubt upon legitimate news from an opposing political standpoint [in most cases from the liberal standpoint], a tactic known as ‘the lying press.’ The false information is then often reverberated as misinformation in social media, but occasionally [actually much more often than occasionally] finds its way to the mainstream media as well.  Fake news is written and published with the intent to mislead in order to damage an agency, entity, or person, and/or gain financially or politically, often using sensationalist, dishonest, or outright fabricated headlines…”

“During and after his presidential campaign and election, Donald Trump popularized the term “fake news” when he used it to describe the negative press coverage of himself.  In part, as a result of Trump’s use of the term, the term has come under increasing criticism, and in October 2018 the British government decided that it will no longer use the term because it is ‘a poorly-defined and misleading term that conflates a variety of false information, from genuine error through to foreign interference in democratic processes.’”

Chalk one up for the “fake news” in Britain!  The “fake newsers” there managed to have the term “fake news” taken out of their lexicon.   Somewhat similarly to how Barack Obama took the term “radical Islamic terrorists,” or ISIS (preferring ISIL) out of his and the preferred liberal vocabulary.

We also have to acknowledge that there is a whole other aspect to “fake news,” which is “fake news” by omission.

This is the practice of “looking the other way,” or disregarding news or events that do not go along with the “biased, liberal, fake news media’s” intended storyline.

You have to give these propagandists some credit.  They never give up in their efforts to control the message.

That is why “We the People” can never go back to the days when we grew complacent and allowed them to get away with it.

It’s so transparent, and almost comical, how the “biased, liberal, fake news media” tips its collusion with one another…, and the democrat party, of course.

They do this by their use of any number of liberally approved “buzzwords,” which get bantered around, all on cue.  For example:

“Gravitas” – I’m calling this “mother of all buzzwords.”  This one was used so shamelessly, and unendingly, to describe George W. Bush’s apparent lack of experience, or knowledge to become president, as opposed to his opponent, then Vice-President Al Gore.

“Undocumented immigrants” – This phrase is the left’s attempt to make “illegal immigrants” sound better, more politically correct and more acceptable.

“Disenfranchised” – This is an interesting one. This buzzword can be put to use in many instances.  It is used to describe people who are unable to take advantage of an opportunity, benefit or anything, for any number of reasons.

“Microaggressions” – This is a relatively new buzzword.  Brandan Kirby, of the Polizette section, on the “LifeZette Life. Explained.” Website, says, “This sounded liked a joke when it came into popular usage a few years ago. But it is anything but funny. Originally attributed to psychiatrist and Harvard University professor Chester Pierce in 1970 to describe insults against African-Americans, the term has been expanded in recent years to apply to virtually every aggrieved social group.  These “microaggressions” are any little comment that could even remotely be perceived by someone as offensive somehow.  For example: By saying, “America is a melting pot,” you may make an immigrant or immigrants feel pressured to assimilate.  Another example comes from one our esteemed universities, and their “Guidance on the Equal Forum” website at the University of North Carolina, which advised that telling a woman “I love your shoes” constituted a microaggression.  The goal of promoting the concept of “microaggressions” is apparently to paralyze speech in general, and provide anyone the chance to be offended by anything!

“Universal” – The word “universal” applied to or added to another word or phrase implies socialism, something being “socialized,” or pertaining to socialist practices.

“Dog whistle” – This a relatively new buzzword as well, but one that has definitely been making the rounds as of late.  Again, according to Brandan Kirby, of the Polizette section, on the “LifeZette Life. Explained” website, “This refers to seemingly neutral words that actually are “super-secret” coded messages to racists and other contemptible people [according to liberals, of course].”

“[Just as only dogs can hear a dog whistle] The only people who seem to be able to decode [or hear] these messages, though, are racists, liberal pundits, and left-wing activists!”

For example, the words “law and order” are “code” for taking away the rights of blacks, say those on the Left.

It’s a strange and twisted world we live in ladies and gentlemen.

We can see here again, the goal of promoting the concept of “dog whistles” is apparently to paralyze speech in general, and provide anyone the chance to be offended by or accused of anything!

President Donald Trump, to his credit, routinely calls out the “fake news media” at all of his political rallies, during impromptu press conferences, and during a recent interview with Laura Ingraham of Fox News.

“When talking about how he has labeled the media and press as an enemy of the people, he told Ingraham, ‘You have news out there that is so fake’ and added that he has a lot of supporters that know the media is lying. ‘I watched Meet the Press this weekend, everything was so falsely put,’ he said.”

The President also recently tweeted:

“There is great anger in our Country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent, reporting of the news. The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly. That will do much to put out the flame of Anger and Outrage and we will then be able to bring all sides together in Peace and Harmony. Fake News Must End!” –  (@realDonaldTrump)

“The Fake News is doing everything in their power to blame Republicans, Conservatives and me for the division and hatred that has been going on for so long in our Country. Actually, it is their Fake & Dishonest reporting which is causing problems far greater than they understand!” –  (@realDonaldTrump)

Chuck Todd, the moderator for the show “Meet the Press,” responded to The President, in a tweet:

“If you actually believe media is the problem then the last thing one should do is respond with your own hate and anger… Try leading; try setting an example; Try living by the mantra “two wrongs don’t make a right.” But then that would mean cutting back on stoking the division.” – @chucktodd)

So, let me get this straight, Chuck.  If we believe “the media” is the problem, we should just ignore it?

And “two wrongs don’t make a right” unless the “biased, liberal, fake news media” are the ones responding to President Trump, and not vice versa.

Also remember that Barack Obama routinely attacked Fox News and conservative media without the “biased, liberal, fake news media” ever making as much as a peep about it.

And lastly, “stoking the division” in our country is your middle name Chuck.  You along with the rest of the “biased, liberal, fake news media.”

Please remember that President Trump is not only the first president, but the first politician who has had the guts to stand up to the “biased, liberal, fake news media,” and call them out for what they are: anti-American hypocrites and card carrying members of “the swamp.”

There is no shortage of undeniable examples of “fake news” on virtually a daily basis.  So denying “fake news” is just another example of “fake news.”

Stay thirsty my friends, but please don’t drink that liberal Kool-Aid!

Believe it or not! This painting of Jesus miraculously survived a devastating, all-consuming, fire!

A lightning strike reportedly ignited a massive fire last Tuesday night at the historic, 150-year-old, First Baptist Church in Wakefield, Massachusetts.

Everything inside the church was turned to ashes.

Well…, almost everything.

Miraculously, the fire crews found one thing in the rubble that survived the brutal flames somehow.

It was a lone painting.

A painting depicting Jesus Christ, standing in a white robe with hands, bearing the marks of crucifixion, extended.

The painting somehow survived…, untouched!

“It’s a beautiful sign of hope and a reminder that Jesus is with us,” church member Maria Kakolowski told a local TV station.  “I am personally just taking it as a sign and a reminder that Jesus, the Christ that we serve, is still alive and even though our church building is gone, our “church” is still here.  The God that we serve is still here.”

According to Lucia I. Suarez Sang, a Reporter for FoxNews.com, “Crews began dismantling the remnants of the historic building last Wednesday morning.  There is no official cause of the fire, however, residents nearby said they saw lightning hit the church’s steeple.”

The fire was reported after powerful thunderstorms rolled through the greater Boston area.

In a statement, church officials expressed their gratitude that no parishioners were hurt and thanked the fire department for battling the seven-alarm blaze.

“We know that we serve a God who specializes in restoring brokenness and who can bring beauty even from ashes,” they wrote. “So we move into the future with trust, hope, and gratitude.”

Pastor Norm Bendroth said he was settling down to watch the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series last Tuesday night when he saw “a fireball in the sky.”

“It just went up like a tinderbox.  It’s a building built in 1870 and it’s a balloon-style (an all wood structure building that uses long, vertical 2″ x 4″ lumber for the exterior walls), so once the fire started you know the whole building just went up quickly,” he said.

According to the National Register of Historic Places, the structure was constructed around 1872 and rebuilt after a fire in 1912.

The estimated damage was more than $1 million.

The town’s fire chief, Michael Sullivan, told the Boston Globe newspaper that, “the extent of the fire on arrival was just too great for us to stop it.”

He added, “It’s a shame, it was a beautiful church.  We feel bad about that but there’s really nothing we could do.”

A “GoFundMe” page has been set-up to help the church.

Do you believe in miracles?

How else can this painting surviving completely unscathed be explained?

Halloween is coming!  But how did it get here, and where did it come from?

The story of Halloween takes a long and winding road.  It starts way back in the times when Stonehenge was constructed in ancient England, and evolves as the Christian Church gets involved, and again when the celebration travels from the European continent over to North America.

OK, so let’s get started!

Where did the name “Halloween” come from?

The word “Halloween” or “Hallowe’en” dates back to about 1745 and is of Christian origin.  The word “Hallowe’en” means “hallowed evening” or “holy evening.”  It comes from a Scottish term for “All Hallows’ Eve” (the evening before All Hallows’ Day).  In Scottish, the word “eve” is “even,” and this is contracted to e’en or een.  Over time, (All) Hallow(s) E(v)en evolved into Hallowe’en.

Where did our celebration of “Halloween” originate from and how did it evolve?

Halloween’s origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (Pronounced sow-in, go figure!).  The Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago in the area that is now Ireland, the United Kingdom and northern France, celebrated their new year on November 1st.  This day marked the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with death.

Celts believed that on the night before their New Year (Oct. 31st), the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred.  On the night of October 31st they celebrated Samhain (remember, pronounced sow-in), when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth.  In addition to causing trouble and damaging crops, Celts thought that the presence of these spirits made it easier for the Druids (the Celtic priests) to make predictions about the future.  For a people entirely dependent on the unpredictable natural world, these prophecies were an important source of comfort and direction as they headed into the long, dark winter.

To celebrate the event, the Druids built huge sacred bonfires, and the people gathered to burn crops and animals as sacrifices to the Celtic gods.  During the celebration, the Celts wore costumes, typically consisting of animal heads and skins.

By 43 A.D., the Roman Empire had conquered the majority of Celtic territory.  Over the course of the next four hundred years that they ruled the Celtic lands, two festivals of Roman origin were combined with the traditional Celtic celebration of Samhain.  The first was Feralia, a day in late October when the Romans traditionally commemorated the passing of the dead.  The second was a day to honor Pomona, the Roman goddess of fruit and trees.  The symbol of Pomona is the apple and the incorporation of this celebration into Samhain probably explains the tradition of “bobbing” for apples that is practiced today on Halloween.

In 609 A.D., Pope Boniface IV established the Catholic feast of All Martyrs Day.  Pope Gregory III later expanded the festival to include all saints as well as all martyrs, and moved the observance from May 13th to November 1st.

By the 9th century (the 800’s) the influence of Christianity had spread into Celtic lands, where it gradually blended with and supplanted the older Celtic rites.  In 1000 A.D., the church made November 2nd All Souls’ Day, a day to honor the dead.  It is widely believed today that the church was attempting to replace the Celtic festival of the dead with a related, but church-sanctioned holiday.  All Souls Day was celebrated similarly to Samhain, with big bonfires, parades, and dressing up in costumes as saints, angels and devils.  The All Saints Day celebration was also called “All-hallows” or “All-hallowmas” (from Middle English “Alholowmesse” meaning All Saints’ Day) and the night before it, the traditional night of Samhain in the Celtic religion, began to be called All-hallows Eve and, eventually, Halloween.

So the merging of the Celtic, Roman and Christian celebrations and holidays, related to what we now call Halloween, was now fairly complete.

But the evolution of Halloween was not complete yet.  Americans of course would have to put their spin on it!

Over a half a century later in America, the celebration of Halloween was extremely limited in colonial New England because of the rigid Protestant beliefs there.  Halloween was much more common in the southern colonies.

As the beliefs and customs of different European ethnic groups as well as the American Indians meshed, a distinctly American version of Halloween began to emerge.

The first American Halloween celebrations included public gatherings held to celebrate the harvest, where neighbors would share stories of the dead, tell each other’s fortunes, dance and sing.  Colonial Halloween festivities also featured the telling of ghost stories and mischief-making of all kinds.

By the middle of the nineteenth century (the 1800’s), annual autumn festivities were common, but Halloween was not yet celebrated everywhere in the country.

In the second half of the nineteenth century (the late 1800’s) America was flooded with new immigrants.  These new immigrants, especially the millions of Irish fleeing Ireland’s potato famine of 1846, helped to popularize the celebration of Halloween nationally. Taking from Irish and English traditions, Americans began to dress up in costumes and go house to house asking for food or money, a practice that eventually became today’s “trick-or-treat” tradition.

By the 1920s and 1930s, Halloween had become a more non-religious, community-centered holiday, with parades and town-wide parties as the featured entertainment.

By the 1950’s, Halloween had evolved into a holiday directed mainly at the young, probably due to the high numbers of young children during the fifties baby boom.  The centuries-old practice of trick-or-treating was also revived.  Trick-or-treating was a relatively inexpensive way for an entire community to share in the Halloween celebration.

So there you have the history of “Halloween.”

A new American tradition was born, and it has continued to grow every year.  Today, Americans spend an estimated $6 billion annually on Halloween, making it the country’s second largest commercial holiday, behind only Christmas.

Halloween has always been a holiday filled with mystery, magic and superstition. It began as a Celtic end-of-summer festival during which people felt especially close to deceased relatives and friends.  For these friendly spirits, they set places at the dinner table, left treats on doorsteps and along the side of the road and lit candles to help loved ones find their way back to the spirit world.

Today’s Halloween ghosts are often depicted as more fearsome and evil in nature.  Our customs and superstitions are scarier too.

Christian churches now tend to officially disassociate themselves from the celebration of Halloween, since the evolution of the holiday has taken it off into a “Godless” direction.

When we think of Halloween now, we think of the night, darkness, monsters, ghosts, skeletons, jack-o-lanterns, witches, bats, spiders, graveyards, vampires, the devil and demons.  Basically, anything scary.

Did You Know?:

Over one fourth of all the candy sold annually in the U.S. is purchased for Halloween?

It’s true!

Pumpkins entered into the Halloween celebration after Irish immigrants came to America and found that pumpkins were easier to carve than potatoes?

It’s true!

Jack-o-lanterns have been around for hundreds of years. The legend actually revolves around a man named Jack.  Jack supposedly made a deal with the devil, which of course usually does not turn out good.  In the end, Jack is stuck between heaven and hell, wandering around, looking for his final resting place, lighting his way, carrying a pumpkin with a candle in it to light his way.

It’s true!

Candy corn, a popular treat during Halloween, was first created in the late 1800’s.  More than 35 million pounds of candy corn is produced each year!

It’s true!

The word “witch” comes from the word “wica,” an Old Saxon word that means “wise one.”  The early-known witches were dealers in medicinal herbs and charms and were highly respected in their communities.

It’s true!

Well, now your Halloween IQ has just been increased over 100%!

Here are just a few more parting shots!

Q: What do you get when you cross a snowman with a vampire?

A: Frostbite.

Q: Why are ghosts so bad at lying?

A: Because you can see right through them!

Q: What’s it like to be kissed by a vampire?

A: It’s a pain in the neck.

Knock knock.

Who’s there?

Boo.

Boo, who?

Well you don’t have to cry about it!

What is The United States of America coming to?

Especially with the midterm elections coming up, I am constantly amazed by how close the majority of these races are.

I really have a hard time believing that right around half of my fellow Americans are preparing to vote for democrat Representatives and democrat Senators.

We have seen repeatedly that the democrats in Congress are held on a very short leash by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.  The party of “group think” is represented well by their liberal politicians, and they are severely ostracized if they wander off of the prescribed ideological reservation.

recovery

So what do the democrats want?  Let’s take a look.

Democrats want “open borders.”  “Open borders” means anyone can come walking into our country from anywhere, at any time, and they assume all of the rights and benefits of an American citizen immediately upon entry.

Democrats want abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Liberals in America have successfully brainwashed many Americans, and others around the world, into believing the Earth is burning up, and the villain is carbon dioxide, the gas that makes all living things grow.

This democrat “to do” list should be frightening enough, but it doesn’t even include the topics of abortion, our gun rights and the 2nd amendment, and the two-tiered justice system for members of “the swamp” and everyone else.

Is all of this really what these people want to see happen?  Really?

So again I’ll say, I have a hard time believing that right around half of my fellow Americans actually support the democrat’s agenda.  I have a hard time believing that right around half of my fellow Americans actually think the democrat’s agenda is good for them and our country.

I really have a hard time believing that right around half of my fellow Americans actually think at all.

You’re saying this iceberg formed naturally?  What you talkin’ ‘bout Willis!?

A huge, flat, iceberg with perfect right angles was spotted on Oct. 16, 2018, by NASA’s “Operation IceBridge,” floating among sea ice, just off the Larsen “C” ice shelf, on the Antarctic Peninsula (the South Pole).

According to NASA, ‘“Operation IceBridge’s’ mission is to record images of our planet’s polar regions, in order to better understand how ice has changed and shifted in recent years.”

Fox News reports that, “This mysterious iceberg’s unique geometric shape has sparked considerable debate on social media.”

According to NASA, however, there’s a simpler scientific reason why the iceberg appears to be a perfect rectangle.

Uh, excuse me, but it doesn’t just “APPEAR TO BE a perfect rectangle,” IT IS A PERFECT RECTANGLE!!!

“We get two types of icebergs: We get the type that everyone can envision in their head that sank the Titanic, and they look like prisms or triangles at the surface and you know they have a crazy subsurface,” Kelly Brunt, an ice scientist with NASA, told Live Science. “And then you have what are called ‘tabular icebergs.'”

“Tabular icebergs are wide and flat, and long, like a sheet cake,” she said. “They split from the edges of ice shelves, large blocks of ice, connected to land but floating in the water surrounding iced-over places like Antarctica.”

“What makes this one a bit unusual is that it looks almost like a square,” Brunt said, adding that it’s probably not very old since wind and water have yet to soften its sharp edges.”

Uh, ya, “a bit unusual” to say the least.  “A bit unusual” is definitely an understatement.

“Although it’s hard to tell the size of the iceberg in this photo,” Brunt said, “it’s likely more than a mile across.”

Now I ain’t no “scientist,” but I am smart enough to realize that this “tabular iceberg” did not just happen naturally, all on its own.

You can say what you want, and come up with all of the scientific explanations you want, but I’m sorry, no one can convince me otherwise.

As with all icebergs, of course, the part visible above the surface is just the top 10 percent of its mass.  The rest is hidden underwater, and I wonder what that looks like!?

What do you think about this?  Please email me and let me know.

Thanks to Christopher Carbone of Fox News for contributing to this article.
