What?

I thought New York City was a “sanctuary city…,” a “caring” city?

I guess New York City is only a “sanctuary city” for people who are in the country illegally…, not for your old run of the mill, actual American citizen.

Only democrats could come up with this lame kind of plan…, and then expect to keep it secret somehow.

In case you didn’t notice, the word “secret” is starting to become synonymous with the democrats.

They’ve got this “secret” plan…, and they’re conducting these “secret” hearings…, and they have “secret” answers to “secret” questions about these “secret’ individuals.

“Secret” “impeachment hearings and interviews with “secret” questions and “secret” answers (unless they are potentially damaging to President Trump, in which case they are leaked to the “liberal propaganda media”), and “secret” accusers and whistleblowers.

And, of course, the democrats are assisted with this “propaganda by omission” by their friends the “biased, liberal propaganda, fake news media,” who look the other away regarding their fascist behavior.

Thankfully, not all news media is created in the image of The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS or NBC.

Sara Dorn of The New York Post reports that, “NYC homeless initiative sends people across the US — without telling receiving cities.  Families who once lived in NYC shelters were sent to 32 states and Puerto Rico.  New York City [is] generously sharing its homeless crisis with every corner of America.”

“From the tropical shores of Honolulu and Puerto Rico, to the badlands of Utah and backwaters of Louisiana, the Big Apple has sent local homeless families to 373 cities across the country with a full year of rent in their pockets as part of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s ‘Special One-Time Assistance Program [SOTA].’ Usually, the receiving city knows nothing about it.”

Well, isn’t that special?!

That’s a lot of nerve, NYC…, secretly shipping your “problems” out of town to other unsuspecting cities.

Mayor Bill de Bozio and the rest of the “holier than thou” New York liberals have apparently felt the need to “punt” their problems to other states they consider “low rent…,” and then de Bozio has the nerve to complain about illegal immigrants, who he supposedly supports, being shipped to NYC from our southern border.

I guess he supports the concept…, as long as the illegals go to someone else’s city.

“[New York] City taxpayers have spent $89 million on rent alone since the program’s August 2017 inception to export 5,074 homeless families — 12,482 individuals — to places as close as Newark and as far as the South Pacific, according to Department of Homeless Services (DHS…, not to be confused with The Department of Homeland Security) data obtained by The Post.  Families who once lived in city shelters decamped [departed suddenly or secretly] to 32 states and Puerto Rico.”

Ha!  What liberal genius took the time to come up with the word “decamped?”

These people are just soooo deceiving and soooo disingenuous.

This has been going on for over two years, and it’s just coming out now.

Like I said before, “propaganda by omission.”  “If we don’t report about it, it isn’t happening.”

“The city also paid travel expenses, through a separate taxpayer-funded program called Project Reconnect, but would not divulge how much it spent.”

If it’s taxpayer funded isn’t it a public record?  Secret, secret, secret.

Just sayin’.

“DHS defends the stratospheric costs, saying it actually saves the city on shelter funding — which amounts to about $41,000 annually per family, as compared to the average yearly rent of $17,563 to house families elsewhere.”

“But critics say the ‘stop-gap solution’ has been fraught with problems, and ultimately has failed to help curb the city’s homelessness.”

You don’t say?!

You mean to say we have a democrat program here that doesn’t work?

Join the list of sad democrat programs that don’t work, and that haven’t worked, SOTA!

“Not only are officials in towns where the city’s homeless land up in arms, but hundreds of the homeless families are returning to the five boroughs — and some are even suing NYC over being abandoned in barely livable conditions. Multiple outside agencies and organizations have opened investigations into SOTA.”

“Homeless individuals and families are eligible for SOTA if they can prove they have been in a New York City shelter for at least 90 days and that their household income is no more than twice what it owes in rent. DHS would not expand on eligibility rules.”

Wait.

So let me get this straight.

You can qualify for this program if your “household income is no more than twice what it owes in rent?”

Wouldn’t that be like many people and many families across America?

I mean, most people are not rich or anywhere close to it.

Maybe New York is doing these people a favor by shipping them out of la la land and out into the real world?

But that’s beside the point.

“Some pols [politicians] in towns taking in NYC refugees were shocked by the news.”

‘“So in other words, if someone is in a shelter, y’all will give them money to go somewhere else if they have been there for 90 days? And some of those people have been sent to Metairie [part of the New Orleans metropolitan area]?’ said Michael Yenni, president of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, when The Post told him the community is among the SOTA destinations.”

‘“I’m not in Mayor Bill de Blasio’s shoes.  I don’t sit behind his desk, and I never will, but it’s certainly interesting. You have shocked me down here in beautiful southeast Louisiana.’”

“The mayor of Willacoochee, Georgia, was similarly stunned. ‘I’m not familiar with none of that,’ Samuel Newson said.”

“The mayor of Harrisville, Utah — who was so baffled to receive a call from The Post that she questioned if the reporter had the wrong number — asked if SOTA recipients are connected to social services in the towns where they move.”

‘“Are they just cutting them loose and saying, “Here you go?” Or are they making sure they don’t find themselves in the same situation a year later?’ Michelle Tait asked.”

“Pols [politicians] in New Jersey, where 2,226 SOTA families have moved, say the answer to Tait’s latter question is ‘No.’”

“Mayor Tony Vauss of Irvington [New Jersey], the destination for 278 SOTA families, said he is ‘highly disturbed by the lack of communication from New York City and the lack of oversight of this program by the city.  ‘SOTA recipients are the population of citizens who require ongoing social services and resources … Therefore, once SOTA ceases funding, program recipients end up using our state and local resources to maintain themselves.’”

“DHS spokesman Isaac McGinn said the city ‘remains committed to using every tool at our disposal to help these families and individuals find stability in the ways that work for them.  Any American, including any New Yorker experiencing homelessness, has the right to seek housing where they can afford it and employment where they can find it.’”

Again…, these people are just soooo manipulative, so deceptive, and soooo disingenuous.

The New York Times chose to begrudgingly report about this program with this liberally spun headline: “City Aids Homeless With One-Way Tickets Home.”

Ha!

Yes…, and NYC baked each one of them an apple pie as a going away present before they unceremoniously gave them their one-way ticket out of town.

I’m sure Mayor de Bozio will end up winning some kind of liberal reward for this program now that they were forced to acknowledge it.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all just ship our problems somewhere else for someone else to deal with?

Apparently that’s only an option for the liberal elites who know so much better than the rest of us uneducated “deplorables.”
