According to Alexander Nazaryan of Yahoo News, “In a press conference on Wednesday morning, President Trump defended his efforts to brand the coronavirus epidemic as a specifically Chinese disease. Although it did originate there, Trump’s critics have said blaming China for the outbreak is xenophobic and racist.”

Hmmm…, that’s odd…, President Trump’s critics calling him xenophobic and racist!

Couldn’t we have just assumed that?

I haven’t heard about any of these “racist incidents… against people of Asian origin across the United States.”

Especially due to The President referring to COVID-19 as “the Chinese virus.”

How exactly are you able to make that connection, Ms. Vega?

Is this one of those liberal propaganda scenarios like the video that supposedly caused the Benghazi attack?

Perhaps you’d be willing to share more details and facts about these “incidents” you refer to?

I’m sure you heard about the “incidents” through unnamed sources who heard about the “incidents” second or third hand.

If there were actual racial “incidents,” I’m sure your network and organization (ABC) would be more than excited to shine their light on them.

I won’t be holding my breath waiting for these stories to surface, however.

That’s right…, in the past we have had the Spanish flu, the West Nile Virus, the Asian flu, and the Hong Kong flu.

The world and the United States has faced many infectious diseases before, and we face the common flu every year, but we have never seen this level of outright hysteria demonstrated before.

“The annual flu” routinely kills hundreds and hundreds of times the people that the coronavirus has, and will, kill, and we already have a vaccine for it as well!

Where has the hysteria been about that?

Where have the quarantines been about that?

Where have the school and business closings been about that?

Why are tens of thousands of deaths acceptable every year from one virus, but these thousands of deaths are not from another virus?

Is our response to the coronavirus unrealistic?

I see that this event is getting cancelled, and that school is closing down, and these games are being suspended, and any plans that involve interactions with people are being changed.

We’re wearing masks, washing our hands 20 times a day, and consuming hand sanitizer like never before.

Is it all really necessary?

Are these new “health” practices going to end up being more harmful than helpful?

I mean, the regular old annual flu is way more dangerous than the coronavirus is.

Are we setting a precedent now where we’re going to implement all of these travel bans and event cancellations and school closures every new flu season?

How can we not now?

How can we pretend one is more dangerous than the other?

How can we put all of these restrictions in place to avoid one virus but not another?

Does that make any sense?

Why have we been willing to just go about our normal everyday lives with the flu virus lurking out there, behind every cough, every sneeze, every handshake, and all of our everyday interactions?

Why is risking getting the flu any less risky than getting the coronavirus?

Why were we one day completely okay with the potential of catching the flu and the next day completely freaking out over the possibility of catching something that’s not even as bad?

And that’s only in the U.S.

The seasonal flu kills between 291,000 and 646,000 people worldwide each year, according to estimates.

Again…, it doesn’t make any sense.

Worldwide 4,756 people have died due to the coronavirus as of today.

But making sense is not the strong suit of the democrats or their co-conspirators, the liberal propaganda, fake news media.

It is not a requirement either.

Why?

Because it’s a situation that The President can’t win.

Have we been able to eliminate the flu?

No.

“If someone had simply stopped and double-checked some math, they might have saved MSNBC’s Brian Williams and New York Times editorial board member Mara Gay some embarrassment and an apology Thursday night.”

I see CNN has finally posted some news about the stock market! 

Yes folks, and if you see CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, The Huffington Post (HuffPost), The New York Times or The Washington Post reporting news about Wall Street, or the economy in general, it’s bad news.

In this case, CNN Business’ David Goldman reports, “US stocks plummet on Coronavirus fears: March 9, 2020.  Dow falls 2,100 points.”

Well, that is definitely news Mr. Goldman…, but it was news too when the stock market hit record highs like over 30 times this last year.

It’s funny how I didn’t see any mention of those economic events.

I wonder why?

Another article out there by David Goldman today reports, “It’s a bad day to be an energy company.”

Wow…, two articles in one day!  Mr. Goldman must be extra charged up by all of this bad news!

Goldman reports, ‘“The rapidly falling price of oil [due to an oil price war between Saudi Arabia and Russia] is likely to put more pressure on energy companies in the United States, which will hurt the banks with the most credit exposure to the oil industry,’ according to CFRA Research analyst Pauline Bell.”

Yes, Mr. Goldman…, again, this is definitely news.

But it was also news when President Trump pushed to open-up more areas for oil exploration and when he got all of the pipelines approved.  Not to mention when we gained our independence from Middle Eastern oil, and in fact, became the world’s number one producer of oil again!

Not to mention how low the price of gas has been for over three years now.

This “good stuff” was also news that I didn’t catch you or CNN reporting about, or even bothering to mention in most cases.

Again, I wonder why?

Death toll hits 14,000!  But I’m not talking about the coronavirus.

The 14,000 deaths, at least, that I’m talking about is from the annual flu bug in the United States.

So where’s all of the hysteria about that?

14,000 deaths!

And 14,000 deaths is on the low end of the national estimate.  That number could be as high as 36,000!

The latest number we have for coronavirus related deaths is…, 22.

Yeah…, that’s right…, just 2-2.

Additionally, according to the “Advisory Board” website, “The 2019-2020 flu season has seen the most pediatric deaths in a decade.”

“This flu season has been especially bad for children, according to the CDC. The latest CDC report shows 92 pediatric deaths had been reported as of Feb. 8, the highest number by week since the 2009-2010 flu season, in which 262 pediatric deaths had occurred by this point in the season, according to CDC.”

“ScienceAlert” website reports that, “Parents are understandably concerned. But it’s important to keep in mind that comparatively few children have tested positive for the coronavirus, and deaths in children are very rare.”

“The number of reported COVID-19 cases in children remains low: of more than 44,000 confirmed cases from China, only 416 (less than 1 percent) were aged nine years or younger. No deaths were reported in this age group.”

“The majority of children and adolescents with COVID-19 in China had mild infections and recovered within one to two weeks.”

So the regular old annual flu virus is considerably more dangerous for children that the coronavirus.  In fact, it appears the coronavirus isn’t dangerous for children at all.

Have we heard the fake news media reporting this?

In fact, it appears that the coronavirus isn’t really dangerous at all, except to elderly people and people who are already experiencing some form of disease or illness.

The “Advisory Board” website goes on to say “Between 26 million and 36 million people have been stricken with the flu as of Feb. 8, according to the latest CDC data.”

Again…, “Between 26 MILLION and 36 MILLION people have been stricken with the flu [in the U.S.] as of Feb. 8, according to the latest CDC data.”

And we have that many cases and we already have a vaccine for the flu!

And how many people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus?

Around 500.

That’s right…, 500.

Senator Charles (Chuck) Schumer shot his mouth off the other day, while speaking out in front of the Supreme Court building.

So what is all of the fuss about?

Mr.EricksonRules is going to pull all of the pertinent information together for you and give you the proper perception of Senator Schumer’s words, as well as of the responses of others.

It all started with what democrat Senator Chuck Schumer said while speaking at an abortion rights rally outside of the Supreme Court on March 4, 2020.

Here are the exact words Schumer said:

“Now we stand here today because behind me, inside the walls of this Court, the Supreme Court is hearing arguments, as you know, for the first major abortion rights cases since Justice Kavanaugh and Justice Gorsuch came to the bench.”

“From Louisiana, to Missouri, to Texas, Republican legislatures are waging war on women, all women. And they’re taking away fundamental rights. I want to tell you Gorsuch, I want to tell you Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

Well, that definitely sounds like a threat to me.

Since Justice Gorsuch and Justice Kavanaugh are appointed for life and don’t have to be re-elected, how exactly will they “pay the price,” Mr. Schumer?

And what do you think they are going to be “hit” with?

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Schumer’s remarks were, “astonishing, reckless and completely irresponsible.”

President Trump tweeted, “There can be few things worse in a civilized, law abiding nation, than a United States Senator openly, and for all to see and hear, threatening the Supreme Court or its Justices. This is what Chuck Schumer just did. He must pay a severe price for this!  — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 5, 2020”

According to Ian Millhiser for the VOX website, Schumer’s words, “received a rare public rebuke from Chief Justice John Roberts.”

“Roberts, for his part, interpreted this statement as a direct threat against Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, and it’s easy to see why. ‘Justices know that criticism comes with the territory,’ the chief justice said in his statement rebuking Schumer. ‘But threatening statements of this sort from the highest levels of government are not only inappropriate, they are dangerous.’”

I think everyone should complete agree with Chief Justice Roberts words.

And excuse Mr. Millhiser, why would the Chief Justice interpret Schumer’s words any other way but as a “direct threat against Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh?”

Senator Schumer specifically called them out.

Any other interpretation is completely disingenuous and propagandistic spin.

The next day, after being reprimanded in The Senate by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer said, “I should not have used the words I used yesterday.  They did not come out the way I intended to.”

Hmmm…, that’s funny, because you’ve been at this talking thing for quite a few years now…, in fact, it’s your job!  I’m pretty sure you said exactly what you intended to say.

“He says that his intention was to convey that ‘there would be political consequences—political consequences, for President Trump and Senate Republicans—if the Supreme Court, with newly confirmed Justices, stripped away a woman’s right to choose.’”

Hmmm…, again that’s funny, because you didn’t say anything about “political consequences,” President Trump or Senate republicans, Mr. Schumer.

Are we to believe that you were that confused and unable to say what you really meant for some unknown reason?

Ian Millhiser also attempts to reason that, “There also isn’t any law prohibiting United States senators from making vaguely menacing statements about Supreme Court justices.”

Oh, but I think there is, Mr. Ian Millhiser…, and I wouldn’t necessarily classify his statements as “vague” either.

Why do I feel that if President Trump would have said these things you wouldn’t have classified his remarks as “vague?”

Just sayin’.

Anyway…, back to the law I think was violated here.

“Threatening government officials of the United States IS a felony under federal law. Threatening the President of the United States is a felony under 18 U.S.C. § 871, punishable by up to 5 years of imprisonment, that is investigated by the United States Secret Service.  Threatening other officials is a Class C or D felony, usually carrying maximum penalties of 5 or 10 years under 18 U.S.C. § 875, 18 U.S.C. § 876 and other statutes.  When a threat is made against a judge, it can also be considered obstruction of justice.”

Schumer continued with his “apology” in The Senate by saying, “Of course, I did not intend to suggest anything other than political and public opinion consequences for the Supreme Court, and it is a gross distortion to imply otherwise.”

“I’m from Brooklyn,” Schumer then explained. “We speak in strong language. I shouldn’t have used the words I did, but in no way was I making a threat. I never, never, would do such a thing. And Leader McConnell knows that. And Republicans, manufacturing outrage over these comments know that too.”

Chucky, Chucky…, where should I begin?

First of all, you “of course” are not given credit for anything.

Second of all, you yourself are the one attempting the “gross distortion here,” not anyone else.

Next you somehow are attempting to blame what you said and how you speak on being from Brooklyn?

Really?

What?!

Then you say people from Brooklyn speak in “strong language?”

Again…, what?!

People from Brooklyn speak in “strong language” compared to who?

In your estimation, Mr. Schumer, are there any people who talk in stronger language who would be excused from saying ever dumber things than you?

Just wondering.

I believe, for now, that covers UpChuck Schumer’s threatening Supreme Court comments.

Lastly I’d like to talk about various politicians and various media outlets attempting to justify Schumer’s comments based on comments President Trump has made about The Supreme Court.

OK…, so what has President Trump said?

Amanda Holpuch of The Guardian reports that, “While ‘elections have consequences’ – a reference to his [President Trump’s] two Supreme Court appointments since winning the White House, both reliable conservatives – ‘I only ask for fairness, especially when it comes to decisions made by the United States Supreme Court!’”

“At a press conference in India, [President Trump] Trump repeated his complaint.”

‘“I just don’t know how they [Justices Ginsberg and Sotomayor] cannot recuse themselves from anything having to do with Trump or Trump-related,’ he said. ‘The right thing to do is that.’”

‘“What Justice Sotomayor said … was really highly inappropriate and everybody agrees to that. Virtually everybody. I’ve seen papers on it, people cannot believe that she said it.’”

President Trump expressing his opinion and concern about certain Justices, based on prior inflammatory remarks, and their ability to judge fairly and without bias, is completely different from Senator Schumer’s threatening remarks.

These politicians and media outlets attempting to equate President Trump’s remarks to Senator Schumer’s remarks, somehow, are acting completely irresponsible and fraudulent.

You scared of the Coronavirus? 

Were you as scared of the flu, we’re all so familiar with, a month or two ago?

Based on the numbers, if you’re going to be scared, you should be just as scared of the flu…, actually you should be much more scared of the flu!

According to Jamie Ducharme of TIME Magazine, even though we have vaccines for the flu, “In total, the CDC estimates that up to 42.9 million people got sick during the 2018-2019 flu season [November thru April, or about six months], 647,000 people were hospitalized and 61,200 died.”

And that’s only in the U.S.

Currently 2 people have died from the Coronavirus in the U.S.

Two.

The MedicineNet website reports that, “Seasonal flu kills 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year, according to a new estimate.”

Wait…, what’s that again?

The flu kills 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year!!!

Joshua Berlinger, Jessie Yeung, Adam Renton, Mike Hayes, Rachel Bowman and Meg Wagner of CNN say the, “Coronavirus death toll tops 3,000.”

That’s in the two months of January and February of 2020.

3,000.

The good old seasonal flu we’re used to “kills 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year.”

Again…, that’s 291,000 to 646,000!

And you’re all worked up about the Coronavirus?

Now why would that be?

Hmmm, let me think.

Could it be because the fake news, liberal propaganda is blowing the Coronavirus all out of proportion?

I believe the answer to that question is “yes.”

I mean…, 291,000 to 646,000 people have been dying from the flu year after year after year after year, and no one seemed to be making a big deal about it.

Am I wrong?

And now 3,000 have died from the Coronavirus and the fake news media and the disingenuous democrat leadership are all losing their minds?

Why are these 3,000 people so special, compared to the 291,000 to 646,000 people that annually from the flu now?

Denise Grady, of The New York Times, reports, “As the United States recorded its first coronavirus death Saturday…, Americans wondered how to measure this new threat against a more familiar foe: influenza.”

“President Donald Trump, a self-described ‘germaphobe,’ said Wednesday he was amazed to learn that tens of thousands of Americans died from the flu each year, contrasting that number with the 60 or so known to be infected with the coronavirus. On Friday, [President] Trump accused the news media and Democrats of exaggerating the dangers of the virus.”

Isn’t that obvious?

And getting the Coronavirus is not a “death sentence.”  In fact most people are able to recover from the virus, just like most people are able to recover from the flu.

“Both the coronavirus and influenza are most dangerous to people who are older than 65, or have chronic illnesses or a weak immune system.

“There seems to be another important difference: The flu appears far more dangerous to children, particularly very young ones, who can become severely ill. Children infected with the new coronavirus tend to have mild or no symptoms.”

“As of Feb. 22, in the current [flu] season there were at least 32 million cases of flu in the United States, 310,000 hospitalizations and 18,000 flu deaths, according to the CDC. Hospitalization rates among children and young adults this year have been unusually high.”

So again, I ask you, where is the panic and finger pointing regarding our current flu numbers?

The current flu numbers are far, far worse compared to the current Coronavirus numbers.

“Doctors can recommend only the usual remedies for [ANY] viral illness: rest, medicine to reduce pain and fever, and fluids to avoid dehydration.”

We’ve all been there, haven’t we?

These “remedies,” “…can lessen the severity of the illness and shorten its course by a day or so, and they may lower the risk of serious complications.”

Anyway…, hopefully, I’ve managed to calm you down about the Coronavirus, raise your awareness about the flu, and raise your awareness as to how the fake news media and the disingenuous democrat leadership attempt to control and manipulate “the news.”
