New York City is an absolute disgrace.

The song about New York City goes, “If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere.”

The question is, who really wants to “make it there” anymore?

A state and a city being run by irresponsible, liberal, socialist, fools, tends to encourage all of those with any brains to migrate elsewhere.

Besides all of the ill-conceived, liberal, social, educational and administrative policies…, New York City residents pay dearly for the privilege of living there.

New Yorkers, of course, start out by paying federal income tax, most in the 12% to 22% range, or an average of 17%.

Next, we go to the state income tax. Most pay in the 6.2% to 6.5%, or an average of 6.35%.

Then we have New York City income tax, which only a few cities in America have. The New York City income tax rate ranges from 3.1% to 3.9%, or an average of 3.5%.

So, that give us a combined average income tax rate of 26.85%.

Keep in mind that states like Texas and Florida have NO state or local income taxes!

So, we’re at 26.85% so far.

But let’s not forget property tax!

The property tax rate is 20.4%! And even if you’re not a property owner, you are indirectly paying that rate through your rent for the property owner.

And last, but not least, we have the sales tax.

New York City has a sales tax of 8.875%!

Now that’s a lot of tax!

AND YET, NEW YORK STATE AND NEW YORK CITY ARE TENS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN DEBT!

The actual debt for New York City is $91.56 billion!

New York State’s debt is close to $150 billion!

Unbelievable.

Like I SAID EARLIER…, A state and a city being run by irresponsible, liberal fools.

And now they (“they” meaning the New York State liberals, the New York City liberals, and the federal House and Senate democrats) want all of the rest of us to bail out these liberal cesspools via disguised money in the next coronavirus relief bill.

These democrat politicians just have no shame.

Anyway, so, what do the people of New York City get for all of that tax money?

They get a mayor, Bill de Blasio, who is a hot mess, and his administration which is one big hot mess as well.

The latest example of disgusting liberal behavior was exhibited by the New York City Health Commissioner, Dr. Oxiris Barbot.

And what a gem she is!

According to Fox News, via a story originally published in the New York Post, “The New York police sergeants union described city health commissioner Dr. Oxiris Barbot as a ‘b—-‘ Wednesday in response to revelations that she told an NYPD official she didn’t give ‘two rats a$$es’ about cops getting safety masks.”

Oh, how wonderful!

This is coming from a person who was handpicked by Mayor de Blasio, to be the city’s health commissioner…, offering her advice and wisdom to the 8.4 million people who live in New York City.

She obviously represents the de Blasio administration’s feelings towards police officers, and the NYPD overall, quite well.

‘“Truth is this b—- has blood on her hands but why should anyone be surprised the NYPD has suffered under de Blasio since he became Mayor,’ the Sergeants Benevolent Association (SBA) tweeted in response to The Post’s exclusive story revealing Barbot’s decision.”

“The health commissioner said in a mid-March phone conversation with NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan, ‘I don’t give two rats’ a$$es about your cops,’ in response to the mask request, sources said.”

‘“I need them for others,’ Barbot said.”

In other words, Cops are expendable and are dead last on her list of considerations.

“Instead of the 500,000 masks Monahan sought to help protect his force, Barbot said she could only cough up 50,000, according to sources.”

“Shortly after the SBA’s tweet, the union’s president, Edward Mullins, sent a statement calling for Barbot’s ouster.”

Your disdain for New York’s finest is obvious Dr. Barbot.

Your lack of knowledge pertaining to the coronavirus is quite obvious as well.

I wonder how quickly you’d be running to find one of these Neanderthal cops if you found yourself out on the streets in Vinegar Hill, Brooklyn, or Downtown Brooklyn, or Ozone Park in Queens?

Your lack of any respect or consideration for your city’s police force is both sad and pathetic.

At least the rest of us can all take comfort in knowing you live in the city you deserve.

COVID-19…, what’s the bottom line?

You’re worried so much about dying from the coronavirus that you’re willing to barricade yourself in your house for months and bring our national economy to its knees, but these other causes of death in the US are just an afterthought?

What extreme measures do we institute to combat these other causes of death in the US?

Don’t get me wrong…, this is a serious health consideration…, and losing all of these people to the virus is very sad…, but are losing these people to the virus any sadder than losing people to these other causes?

According to Medical News Today.com:

“Around 74% of all deaths in the United States occur as a result of 10 causes.”

Over the past 5 years, the main causes of death in the U.S. have remained fairly consistent.”

“According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there were 2,813,503 registered deaths in the United States in 2017.”

“All figures and percentages provided here come from the most recent data from the CDC, collected in 2017.”

Heart disease deaths in 2017: 647,457

Percentage of total deaths: 23.5%

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. This is the case in the U.S. and worldwide.

Cancer deaths in 2017: 599,108

Percentage of total deaths: 21.3%

Unintentional (accidental) injury deaths in 2017: 169,936

Percentage of total deaths: 6%

Chronic lower respiratory disease deaths in 2017: 160,201

Percentage of total deaths: 5.7%

Chronic lower respiratory disease refers to a group of lung conditions that block the airflow and cause breathing-related issues. These diseases include:

chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

bronchitis

emphysema

asthma

Stroke and cerebrovascular disease deaths in 2017: 146,383

Percentage of total deaths: 5.2%

Cerebrovascular diseases develop due to problems with the blood vessels that supply the brain.

Every year, more than 795,000 people in the U.S. have a stroke. The risk of stroke varies with race, ethnicity, and age.

Alzheimer’s disease deaths in 2017: 121,404

Percentage of total deaths: 4.3%

In the U.S., an estimated 5.8 million people currently have Alzheimer’s disease, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. This figure may rise to 14 million people by 2050 as life expectancy continues to increase.

Alzheimer’s is also the only cause of death in the top 10 that medical experts cannot cure, prevent, or slow down.

Diabetes deaths in 2017: 83,564

Percentage of total deaths: 3%

Diabetes is a condition wherein the body can no longer control blood glucose, which leads to dangerously high levels of blood glucose. This is called hyperglycemia.

Persistent hyperglycemia can damage the body’s tissues, including those in the nerves, blood vessels, and eyes.

There are two main types of diabetes: type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes.

The bodies of people with type 1 diabetes do not produce insulin at all, so these people need to supplement their supply. The bodies of people with type 2 diabetes cannot use insulin effectively.

Diabetes can cause serious health complications, including heart disease, blindness, kidney failure, and the need for amputation of the lower extremities.

Influenza (the flu) and pneumonia deaths in 2017: 55,672…, and we have and have had a vaccine for the flu!

Percentage of total deaths: 2%

Kidney disease deaths in 2017: 50,633

Percentage of total deaths: 1.8%

Suicide deaths in 2017: 47,173

As an added note, at least 15,292 people were fatally shot in The United States in 2019 as a result of gun violence.

According to the Statista.com website, these are the daily number of coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths compared to influenza and all causes of death in the United States as of May 6th, 2020:

Average deaths/day by all causes (2019), 7,969.7

Average deaths/day by influenza (2018-2019), 161.3

Average COVID-19 deaths/day since first case in U.S., 912.2 (That would extrapolate over a year to roughly 333,000, although the death rates have been on the decline and would probably end up being much lower than that.

As of the time of this blog, there have been a reported 80,900 deaths credited to the coronavirus, although I tend to believe this number may be slightly inflated.

I’m just putting this information out there, since I’m not seeing this data from any other media outlet.

I just feel it’s important to put this current coronavirus health emergency into perspective.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS, UNLESS THE GOVERNMENT IS PREPARED TO PAY ALL OF OUR MORTGAGES, ALL OF OUR RENT, ALL OF OUR UTILITY BILLS, ALL OF OUR FOOD BILLS, ETC., THE VAST MAJORITY OF PEOPLE CANNOT CONTINUE TO LIVE UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES.

THAT’S THE BOTTOM LINE.

PLEASE NOTICE THAT ALL OF THE PEOPLE DEMANDING WE GO ON IN THIS “STAY AT HOME” MODE DO NOT HAVE THESE PROBLEMS. THOSE IN GOVERNMENT ARE ALL RECEIVING REGULAR PAYCHECKS FROM PRECISELY THE PEOPLE THEY ARE ECONOMICALLY STRANGLING TO DEATH!

I mean, what you talkin’ ‘bout Giridharadas?

Brian Flood of Fox News reports that, “MSNBC’s Anand Giridharadas [says that] Americans’ ‘freedom obsession’ blinds them to other ‘threats.’

Oh, really? You’re an American Anand. What’s with the “them” reference?

Anyway…, please…, go on.

“MSNBC contributor Anand Giridharadas declared on Wednesday that Americans have a ‘freedom obsession’ when speaking about the coronavirus pandemic during an appearance on ‘Morning Joe.’”

Oh, I get it now. For the sake of this interview, when Giridharadas uses the term “Americans,” he is really referring to us “deplorables.”

Just for reference sake, Anand Giridharadas is a former columnist for The fake news New York Times.

And, yes, Mr. Giridharadas, we “Americans” do have a “freedom obsession,” since our kind of “American freedom” shouldn’t be taken for granted. And our kind of “American freedom” was bitterly fought for and defended with the lives and the blood of millions of American fathers, brothers, mothers, sisters, sons and daughters.

Our freedom did not come freely, and we’re not going to hand it over for any reason…, to include a virus, climate change, or whatever.

“Giridharadas continues by asking, ‘One of the fundamental questions to me is, what’s going to be our relationship to government, the idea of government after this?’”

True Americans’ relationship with government is that of a necessary evil.

Let me say that again. True Americans’ relationship with government is that of a necessary evil. We don’t view government as our friend, our mommy, our daddy, or our baby sitter.

Remember…, the second amendment to the US Constitution says, “…being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” This was put into The Constitution not for our right to have weapons to go hunting. This was put into The Constitution to guarantee the American people would be able to defend themselves against an oppressive government.

And you think we have a “freedom obsession.”

Three levels of our “relationship with government?”

This guy has really given this a lot of thought!

So, now you’re referring to us deplorables as cavemen and cavewomen?

And you claim our country was “founded on slavery and genocide?”

Allow me to correct you Mr. Giridharadas.

The United States of America WAS NOT “founded on slavery and genocide.”

Slavery was a component of our country’s history, just as slavery was a component of most countries’ histories, and it was a practice our country corrected.

And “genocide [the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group or nation]?” The European immigrants (And you like immigrants, don’t you?) and later our young country was in a war with the Native Americans. People on both sides died fighting this war. And The United States won that war. Even though we won that war…, if you look at how our Native Americans are being treated today, even though they were a conquered people, you would have to say they’re doing pretty good. Even better than pretty good. They are respected and supported by our government.

Our history with the Native American “Indians” is a FAR cry from genocide.

We’re not “blind” Mr. Giridharadas…, and we’re certainly not afraid…, we’re just able to put it all into perspective…, from the deplorable point of view.

“Giridharadas said a ‘more recent, kind of 40-year version’ is the ‘Reagan war on government,’ which he said is an idea that impacts Americans on both sides of the aisle.”

President Reagan was a wise man, and he put America and the American people first, just like President Trump does. Although we can track this acknowledgement of freedom back even earlier to President Kennedy.

‘“There’s a hard version on the right, there’s a small c, conservative kind of militant version of it, but it has also infected many people on the left in this passive sense, like ‘I believe in government,’ but ‘I would never go work there,’ or ‘I believe in government but, you know, I kind of like don’t like my taxes too high, or I use trusts in the Cayman Islands.’”

Your level of confusion, Mr. Giridharadas, is truly impressive!

“Militant?” This could be, or may be, I guess.

“Infected many people on the left?” It seems that you’re confusing some democrats opening their eyes and waking up with them being slightly “infected’” by conservatism.

Okay…, and here comes the perfunctory Trump bashing segment of Giridharadas’ comments.

“Giridharadas said ‘The more recent Trump-era twist is when…you put someone who can barely read a sentence in government, in the figure of Donald Trump, and it becomes true [that] government sucks, because you made it suck by telling everybody it sucks. I think the most important thing that could come out of this is realizing the government is not the biggest threat to our liberty.’”

Oh. No?!

Have you been paying attention to what the FBI and the DOJ attempted to do to President Trump and his associates? I would have to say that our government [at least “the deep state” and “the swamp”] has shown itself to absolutely be “the biggest threat to our liberty.”

‘“It can be a threat to our liberty but we’re threatened by many, many things and what the government fundamentally does is protect us.’”

Theoretically, our government should have our best interests in mind and be protecting us…, but in many cases that is just not the case.

Democrats aim to spread and finance their own disease called liberalism.

Yes, my friends, democrats are aiming to spread and finance their own disease called liberalism on the back of the coronavirus.

Adam Shaw of Fox News reports that, “Former Obama White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said during the 2008 financial crisis that lawmakers should ‘never let a crisis go to waste,’ and many Democrat lawmakers appear to be heeding that advice — using the coronavirus pandemic as a jumping-off point to renew calls for a historic expansion of government.”

Which is an expansion of “the deep state” and an expansion of “the swamp.”

“The view that the crisis should be an axis for deep, long-lasting change was on display during negotiations over the $2 trillion stimulus package, in which House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn reportedly said that the package was ‘a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.’”

And what exactly is your “vision” Mr. Clyburn?

May I say I feel you’ve been on that “liberal plantation” way too long, Mr. Clyburn?

“That remark brought criticism from Republicans, when Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., said of Clyburn’s comments: ‘When we see a rising body count, they see a political opportunity. Shame on them.’”

Shame on them indeed.

“But Clyburn’s sentiment was reflected at the time in an ultimately unsuccessful House Democratic stimulus proposal that included environmental regulations on airplanes, diversity demands for the boards of companies receiving bailouts, as well as other wish list items.”

Skeptics of my outlook towards these democrats really need to take a step back, look at what’s going on, and make an honest assessment of their desires and their intentions…, neither of which are good things for America and We The People…, unless you are a recent immigrant from Venezuela and you already miss the socialism there and the government controlling every aspect of your life.

According to Katelyn Burns for Vox.com, “Joe Biden says the pandemic response is an opportunity for structural change.”

“The former vice president highlighted needed changes to the voting system, as well as environmental and economic reforms.”

Ahhh, yes…, we must change our voting system and pretend to help the environment in order to combat the coronavirus!

‘“I think it’s going to, it may not dwarf, but eclipse what [Franklin Delano Roosevelt] faced,’ he said. ‘We have an opportunity, Chris [Cuomo], to do so many things now to change some of the structural things that are wrong, some of the structural things we couldn’t get anyone’s attention on.’”

Oh, you got a lot of peoples’ attention, Creepy Joe…, but only because your “structural change” ideas were so ill-contrived and stupid.

“The combination of the pandemic and a free-falling economy has exposed several policy shortfalls that some Democrats have been speaking to for years. In the two weeks before March 28, about 10 million people in the US filed initial claims for unemployment, the most since the statistic started being tracked in 1967. ‘The Band-Aid’s been ripped off,’ Biden said.”

“The band-aid’s been ripped off?”

Ripped off of what, Creepy Joe?

One of your many age spots?!

The only “policy shortfalls” this whole pandemic nightmare has exposed is the failed fairy tale that says government run and administered healthcare is a better system and that we can trust the liberals in government “to take care of us.”

Hillary Clinton has said basically the same things as Creepy Joe as of late.

But while Republicans and conservatives say that such measures are appropriate only in limited circumstances, Democrat politicians see the door as now having been opened to an enormous expansion of government.”

“Additionally, left-wing Democrats are likely to fight any return to a pre-COVID situation tooth and nail, and have already indicated as much.”

‘“We just have to reject any calls for a return to normal,’ Rep. Pressley said Monday. [That’s Rep. Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts] ‘Because that normal is one that was slowly killing people.’”

Wait…, what?

These lefties are opposed to a return to “normal?”

So, they prefer the way we’ve been forced to live lately?

If we’re going to hand money out, let’s REALLY hand some money out!

Howard Gleckman, for Forbes Media, says, “Congress is about to pass [actually has already passed] another coronavirus relief bill, adding another $500 billion to the more than $2 trillion it already spent to support business and individuals in the midst of the pandemic. And it likely will approve trillions more in future stimulus in the coming months.”

And spending money “to support business and individuals” is just a portion of the spending. There is quite a bit of spending in these “relief” bills that goes to the states and to a whole collection of non-covid related entities just looking for a hand-out.

And what do WE get from all of this spending? WE get like $1,200…, if we’re lucky. Many of us will get ZERO because we’re so wealthy or don’t qualify somehow. Ha!

So, WE may get a measly $1,200 while these other governmental charities get millions and billions of dollars thrown at them.

Our representatives in Washington are already starting to argue over where the next round of trillions of dollars in “relief” spending will go.

Allow me to offer a suggestion.

JUST GIVE THE PEOPLE SOME RELIEF!

If you’re going to waste OUR money…, “waste it on us!

In your own words Pelosi, quit throwing all of us “crumbs!”

I’m pretty sure we would do a better job of spending our money than the government does.

Let’s amend that to ABSOLUTELY SURE.

If we gave EVERY adult in the country (209 million people) $25,000, it would cost us 5.225 trillion dollars…, or about what we’ll end up spending anyway in total, anyway.

If we wanted to get a little crazier, we could give every adult $50,000 at a cost of 10.45 trillion dollars.

And really, what’s another 5 trillion bucks between friends?

No one else seems to be worried about spending money we don’t have.

So, what does a trillion of something look like, anyway?

The United States national debt is currently over 20 trillion dollars. We hear these HUGE numbers thrown around all the time, but does anyone really have a grip on what a BILLION or a TRILLION of anything really looks like?

Just for a refresher on how you get to a Trillion and beyond, recall from grade school the implications of adding three zeros after a “one”.

1 = One

1,000 = One Thousand

1,000,000 = One Million

1,000,000,000 = One Billion

1,000,000,000,000 = One Trillion

1,000,000,000,000,000 = One Quadrillion

1,000,000,000,000,000,000 = One Quintillion

Quadrillions?

Quintillions?

Our national deficit is only in the lower trillions now.

We’ve got a lot of room to grow our debt!

In fact, we’ll never run out of bigger numbers!

That’s just a fact.

The Imagination Station website asks, “OK, so what does a trillion look like?”

The problem with most answers to questions like this is that they try to put it into perspective by relating it to things normal people have no perspective for. For instance, did you know that one trillion dollars would stretch nearly from the earth to the sun?

I don’t know when the last time you traveled from the earth to the sun, but for me this comparison is just as mind-boggling as the concept of a trillion of something.

One Million Pennies

The Megapenny project uses something a lot more common to most of us, a penny. Most people have a few in their pockets or in a jar and it provides a much better sense of scale. Round up 16 of them, stack them on top of each other into a little pile and it’s one inch tall. Place them side by side in a line and they stretch out one foot.

So much for what’s in your pockets, now break open your piggy banks and gather up one million pennies. One million pennies creates a wall four feet wide, five feet tall and one foot thick.

One Billion Pennies

Stepping up to a billion, things start to change as we start imagining stacks of pennies the size of a typical school bus. Five school buses to be exact.

Add another three zeros and we begin to enter into the realm of the national debt (in dollars – not pennies). One trillion pennies would create a mind boggling cube with edges nearly as long as a football field.

One Trillion Pennies

Of course, the final step here is to image twenty (20) of these cubes of pennies. Each penny representing one dollar of the national debt. The physical representation of large numbers is an interesting way to wrap your head around what it means to say something is in the billions or trillions, and beyond.

So, Congress…, if you’re going to throw all of this “funny money” around…, remember…, it’s not YOUR money, it’s OUR money, and we want some of it back without it having to filter down through your wasteful and misdirected bureaucracy.

If we aren’t in the middle of an emergency, what would you call it?!

Jacob Pramuk for CNBC reports that, “The House will not return to Washington until May 4 ‘unless it has to pass an emergency bill.’”

“The Senate is set to return April 20 as of now.”

“The House will not come back to Washington until at least May 4 unless it needs to pass emergency measures to respond to the coronavirus pandemic, [Democrat] Majority Leader [A congressman from Maryland, and the second ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives behind Nancy Pelosi] Steny Hoyer’s office told representatives Monday.”

“House members, most of whom have been in their districts for all of April as Covid-19 spreads, will not have to travel to Washington before May 4 ‘absent an emergency,’ the Maryland Democrat’s office said. It added that lawmakers would get ‘sufficient notice’ if they have to travel to Washington to vote on coronavirus legislation.”

“Absent an emergency?”

Pelosi and Hoyer don’t think what the country is experiencing right now is an emergency?

The money set aside for small business relief, $350 billion, has already run out, and many small businesses and their employees are in jeopardy.

That’s not an emergency enough for you, Steny?

That’s not an emergency enough for you, Nancy?

“As efforts to stall the coronavirus’ spread have wrecked the U.S. economy…, Senate Republicans last week tried to pass a bill to inject $250 billion more into a small business loan program set up in the rescue legislation. Democrats blocked the measure, then the GOP rejected a Democratic counter offer that included more money for states and hospitals fighting the pandemic, along with funding for food assistance programs.”

Can we not just increase the money available to small businesses, and then address all of this other stuff with a separate bill?

Do we really have to muddy the waters every time with every bill?

It really shouldn’t be that difficult.

“While Democrats have held some discussions with the Trump administration on the issue, neither major party’s congressional leaders have showed a willingness to back down from their demands yet.”

Just like the band on board The Titanic playing while the ship was sinking.

“Republicans refused to back down over the weekend. In a joint statement Saturday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said, ‘they reject the Democrats’ reckless threat to continue blocking job-saving funding unless we renegotiate unrelated programs which are not in similar peril.’”

Like I said, “Can we not just increase the money available to small businesses, and then address all of this other stuff with a separate bill?”

“While Congress has been out of the Capitol, the coronavirus has taken a steeper human and economic toll. U.S. Covid-19 cases now top 560,000, and the disease has been linked to more than 22,800 deaths, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.”

“Meanwhile, more than 16 million people have filed new jobless claims over a three-week period.”

You think Sleepy Joe Biden should do what?!

According to Dom Calicchio of Fox News, “The U.S. presidential election is still seven months away but an MSNBC host is already suggesting that Democrat Joe Biden set up a ‘shadow government’ against the Trump administration amid the coronavirus outbreak.”

“Stephanie Ruhle pitched the idea Wednesday during an interview with Jim Messina, who served as deputy chief of staff of operations under former President Barack Obama.”

Uh, helloooo Stephanie…, the democrats already have a “shadow government” set up…, it’s called “the deep state,” or “the swamp.”

Unless you’re calling for a Civil War type of situation, like when the Confederates established their own separate government.

Is that what you’re calling for Stephanie?

You said Biden should “set up a shadow government against the Trump administration.”

You do realize that President Trump’s administration is our administration…, The United States’ administration, don’t you?

Are you proposing some kind of treasonous type plot, Stephanie…, ala “the lovers,” Peter Strzok and Lisa Page?

I mean the Democrats versus the Republicans thing can only go so far, right?

In the end we are all Americans, right?

Sooooo, let me get this straight…, you want Sleepy Joe to get up and give a coronavirus briefing every day, just like President Trump does, except Sleepy Joe’s briefing would carry no weight and would only serve to confuse people, at the expense making Creepy Joe seem important or relative?

What a good suggestion, Stephanie! That is exactly the type of idiotic suggestion we would expect to originate from some clueless liberal at MSNBC.

There were no closures.

There were no cancellations of anything.

There was no shutting down the economy.

There were no travel bans.

There were no quarantines.

There was no social distancing.

Nothing.

Nice response Joe.

But now you have all of the answers?

The most important election of our lifetimes…, WAS THE LAST ONE!

Matt Flegenheimer for The New York Times asks, “What if the Most Important Election of Our Lifetimes Was the Last One?”

My response to him would be the last election, in 2016, was definitely the most important election of our lifetimes.

The election of 2016 showed that the people who really care about our country could still win a national election, regardless of the blatant liberal propaganda media and the millions of fraudulent votes fabricated by the liberal democrats.

The election of 2016 put an end to the appeasement of Muslim terrorists and those who support them.

The election of 2016 put an end to the wholesale shipment of American jobs overseas.

The election of 2016 put an end to the allowance of virtually every foreign country taking advantage of us via unfair trade agreements and policies.

The election of 2016 ended our dependence on oil from the Middle East.

The election of 2016 brought manufacturing back to America, most importantly of steel, which was a national defense concern.

The election of 2016 has put a finger in the dyke of the seemingly never ending leak of illegal and dangerous immigrants into our country.

The election of 2016 has brought to light many abuses perpetrated by the FBI, the DOJ, the CIA and more, which would have never even been known had Hillary Clinton won the 2016 election.

The election of 2016 forced the liberal propaganda, fake news media to finally, and unquestionably, show themselves for who they are…, an arm of the democrat party, an enemy of our country an enemy of the American people.

The election of 2016 short circuited the unconstitutional UN-Affordable Care Act, better known as ObamaCare, and the attempted government takeover of our private healthcare system.

The election of 2016 brought long awaited reforms which improved the performance of the VA system and the overall treatment of our veterans.

The election of 2016 resulted in the rebuilding and upgrading of our military across the board.

The election of 2016 also resulted in the slashing of thousands and thousands of suffocating and obstructing federal regulations.

Other than that, the election of 2016 wasn’t important at all!

Flegenheimer continues, “Politics runs on superlative: the best plan, the biggest rally, the most votes.”

Hold on a minute.

What is it with these “reporters” from The Times and The Post? Why do they always feel the need to interject some word that no one ever uses?

I’m sure Flegenheimer spent quite a bit of time coming up with that “elitist word of the day.”

Anyway…, back to the one “figurative or metaphorical use of a word or expression which has proved most enduring of all, and repeated each campaign season with well-practiced conviction.”

Regarding the 2016 election, ‘“It was the rejection of business as usual,’ said Rebecca Kirszner Katz, a progressive Democratic strategist. ‘And that includes any form of competent governing.’”

The word “competent” being a matter of opinion, of course.

To be sure the 2016 election was “the rejection of business as usual.” And if you believe career establishment politicians and anti-American policies represent competency, then Ms. Kirszner Katz is your girl.

“Recent weeks have at once exposed the messiness of the federal virus response and the consistency of [President] Trump’s rampaging leadership instincts, delivering a moment that has at last closed the gap between the permanent chaos of his White House, a once-remote sideshow for many Americans, and the daily upheaval in their own lives.”

Okay, Mr. Flegenheimer, I just have to dissect this last remark.

“The messiness of the federal virus response?”

At least we have a federal response!

And what is “messy” about it? We have daily, transparent, briefings from The President and his team, and plan of action that’s endorsed by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

What kind of “response” was put together by any other president in the last 50+ years regarding a “response” to a potentially dangerous virus?

Go ahead Flegenheimer…, talk amongst your friends…, I’ll wait.

I hate to interrupt, but…

Don’t you recall other presidents banning travel from foreign countries?

Don’t you recall other presidents ordering that people be quarantined before reentering our country?

Don’t you recall other presidents shutting down educational systems across the country in order to guard against the spread of a virus?

Don’t you recall other presidents ordering all non-essential business be suspended and all personal interactions be limited in order to guard against the spread of a virus?

NO, OF COURSE YOU DON’T, Flegenheimer!

YOU DON’T RECALL ANY OTHER PRESIDENTS DOING ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T DO ANYTHING…, BESIDES GIVE US ALL A BUNCH OF MEANINGLESS LIP SERVICE!

Please let me remind you, Flegenheimer, since you seem to be factually challenged…,

… we currently have seen 1.9 million coronavirus cases worldwide, resulting in 120,500 deaths.

… we currently have seen 555,000 cases in the United States, resulting in 21,900 deaths.

… in 2009, the H1N1 virus, or the Swine Flu, effected a billion people worldwide, with 284,000 estimated fatalities. How come our country wasn’t shut down for this outbreak, President Obama? Sleepy Joe Biden? Anybody?

… in 2003 we had the SARS virus.

… in 1999 we had the West Nile Virus.

… in 1968 we had the H3N2 virus, or the Hong Kong Flu, where 33,800 people died in the U.S.

… and in 1957 over a million people died from the Asian Flu worldwide, while 116,000 died in the United States.

When have we cancelled, closed, or shut down anything before because of a virus?

The correct answer is NEVER.

Getting back to your remark…, “[President] Trump’s rampaging leadership instincts,” could also be referred to as decisive, informed leadership, which has saved tens of thousands of lives.

And then you talk about “a moment that has at last closed the gap between the permanent chaos of his White House, a once-remote sideshow for many Americans, and the daily upheaval in their own lives.”

May I suggest that any “chaos” in the White House, if there is any, is instigated and nurtured by you and your friends in the liberal propaganda, fake news media, and your democrat friends.

Again, aiding you in your “factual challengedness,” Mr. Flegenheimer, the drug you’re referring to is hydroxychloroquine, and it has been proven to be quite effective in many cases. In fact, many have given the drug credit for saving their lives.

At stake were health care plans, immigration policies, a generation of court seats and now, they say, many lives that would not have been lost to the coronavirus under more capable executive stewardship.”

And, of course, “the answer” to your answer is that your answer is all politically motivated anti-Trump propaganda and fake news.

Oh, and by the way, Sleepy Joe, wasn’t it you who called President Trump a “xenophobe” [a person having a dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries] for blocking any travel from China at the onset of the outbreak, and probably saving tens of thousands of American lives as a result?

Yes…, it was you Sleepy Joe…, don’t be shy!

How could a former labor secretary describe President Trump’s accomplishments regarding the lowest unemployment rates across the board, in history, as “damage?”

Tyler Olson of Fox News reports that, “Biden adviser, ObamaCare architect Zeke Emanuel says US should prepare for coronavirus measures to last 18 months.”

For those of you counting, that’s another year and a half!

ANOTHER YEAR AND A HALF?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does this idiot and his advisee, Sleepy, Creepy Joe, think our country can afford to be shut down another year and a half?!

“Dr. Zeke Emanuel, an adviser to Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on the coronavirus, said this week that Americans could be dealing with strict social distancing measures to combat the coronavirus for 18 months and that the U.S. ‘will not be able to return to normalcy until we find a vaccine or effective medications.’”

Wait a minute. Emanuel? That name sounds familiar. He’s not related to Rahm Emanuel, is he?

You know…, the same Rahm Emanuel who was Obama’s chief of staff, and then the worst mayor in Chicago’s history.

And now Sleepy Joe has enlisted Rahm’s equally clueless brother, Zeke, as his medical adviser?

Yes…, Emmanuel’s comments certainly do “seem to paint a more grim picture” for our country, to say the very least!

Is all that economic pain worth trying to stop COVID-19? The truth is we have no choice. … We cannot return to normal until there’s a vaccine. Conferences, concerts, sporting events, religious services, dinner in a restaurant, none of that will resume until we find a vaccine, a treatment, or a cure.’”

“He added: ‘We need to prepare ourselves for this to last 18 months or so and for the toll that it will take.’”

I just have to ask…, does anyone reading this really believe The United States could survive an additional 18 month economic shut down?

How about an additional 12 month shut down?

Nuke that microbe!

I read about, hear about, and see people who are just losing their minds over this coronavirus thing.

They are attempting to hermetically seal themselves off from the outside world in an effort to protect themselves from the coronavirus.

It’s almost comical to me to watch some of these people chasing their tails in an effort to combat this un-seeable enemy which may be lurking on any surface, or floating along on any waft of air.

We’ve got people in hazmat suits.

We’ve got people wearing all manner of masks.

We’ve got people disinfecting anything they may touch or come in contact with.

We’ve got people washing and scrubbing their hands incessantly.

According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, there are over 1,700 known viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens that infect people.

And this data was prior to the rise of the coronavirus.

So we can now change that figure to over 1,701.

Each year in the United States about 36,000 people die from flu-related complications, and more than 200,000 are hospitalized.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), “Infectious diseases kill over 17 million people a year [worldwide]. Nearly 50,000 men, women and children are dying every day from infectious diseases.”

And these figures from the World Health Organization are prior to the rise of the coronavirus as well…, and you just started all of your masking, disinfecting, scrubbing and social distancing a couple weeks ago?

Hmmmm?

We have to ask ourselves, what has suddenly changed that we are so concerned about an infectious disease?

The only thing I know for sure is that America and the world will never be the same again…, for better or for worse.

I’m thinking worse.

I would like to recommend reading the book, “Be a perfect person in just three days,” by Stephen Manes.

I think it’s especially relevant these days, regarding cures that may be worse than the disease itself.
